Day Three :: Get Your Home Decluttered in 28 Days
Image courtesy of @Disney August 4th, 2014 “Find inspiration all around you from doorknobs to clocks to everything between” ~ @Disney This is so true! You can find inspiration to redecorate (and declutter) your house just about anywhere! I think that is why we all love Pinterest so much – there is so much to look at and get inspired by. I have a board just for things I dream about having – like a Hans Wegner Wishbone Chair or Eames Lounge Chair! A girl can dream! Today let’s work on the room that we usually don’t like going into – probably because we do a “chore” in there most every day. …

Soy Wax Candles Offer a Healthier Alternative
Photo courtesy of Flickr The Many Uses of Candles: As candles started to wane as the major light source due to the introduction of the light bulb, they became more of a decorative item. Candles became available in a broad array of sizes, shapes and colors, and consumer interest in scented candles began to grow. During the 1990s, new types of candle waxes were being developed due to an unusually high demand for candles. New waxes have been introduced including soybean wax, which was a softer and slower burning wax than paraffin wax, and palm wax. (Source: Wikipedia). So with the holidays just around the corner this is a great…

Dandelion Moms Project Kindness :: #LikeAGirl Project Empowers
Still from the Always Like A Girl Project found on ABC When I found out that I was going to have a little girl while pregnant I thought about how I wanted to be the type of mom that would empower and raise my daughter to be a confident person. Since she was very little, she has been interested in activities that are considered more boyish in nature – building LEGO’s, climbing tree’s and collecting bugs, playing Minecraft – and has had several friends over the years ask her “why do you like boy stuff?” I explained that these are neither boy nor girl “things” and she can like and do what…

The Importance of Managing Our Stress
Image courtesy of PGeveryday The other day I was looking at the P&Geveryday website as part of this campaign and came across an article that made me want to stop browsing and immediately clicked-through to read it. The post talked about the many signs that your body gives you when you are under stress and tips on how to decompress. I have been thinking a lot about stress lately and how we underestimate the power that stress has over our physical and mental health. Sometimes we don’t realize we are getting too stressed but our body will give us signs that it might be a good idea to slow down or take some time for ourselves. …

Fashion :: Summer Essentials to Look and Feel Great!
Peonies are in season (yippee!!), the weather is warmer (with the exception of SoCal where we have the “June Gloom”. Grrr.), barbecue’s are happening every weekend and days at the pool and beach are starting to become a regular occurance. Summer may not officially be here but it is fun to prepare and think about adding a few summer essentials to get you started. You don’t need much to look cool, comfortable and polished. A denim short. This looks great with a t-shirt, a crisp white shirt or even a flowy blouse. I like that this one has a longer…

The APMA “First Steps” Campaign Helps Keep Kids’ Feet Healthy and Happy
Did you know that April was Foot Health Awareness Month? I love how each month there is some type of awareness campaign! But I do like to talk about feet – let me tell you why! When I was in second grade, our neighbor noticed that I was walking pigeon toed and mentioned this to my mother. It just so happened that her husband was a podiatrist so he checked out my feet. He recommended that my mother put saddle shoes on my feet at night (on opposite feet) to help fix this problem. I do remember that it hurt but I am so thankful that the problem was addressed early…
