Jawsome Shark Party
With shark week here this swimming with the sharks party was a no-brainer! Both my boys have summer birthdays and I thought what a better theme than “Shark Attack” for their pool party. My main focus is always the candy table & the color theme. For this jawsome shark party we did blue, red & white for the colors. The candy table was my favorite! We had a shark bait station with gummy worms, goldfish, and Swedish fish candy’s. The table also included candy shark necklaces, coral reef rock candy, gummy life rings and of course gummy sharks. I love coordinating the colors of the candy to…

TRA-LA-LAAAA! So excited! We absolutely love these books and I have to say as a mom of a reluctant reader that the Captain Underpants book series really helped my daughter become more interested in reading. Now, she will pick up a book and read it for the joy of reading but there was a period of time a few years back that it was really tough to convince her to pick up a book, but she really connected the Captain Underpants and it was a turning point for her. Hurray for books like these that help with our reluctant readers! Fans of Captain Underpants – hold tight and get ready for…

Tips for Spending Quality Time with the Family
We like to enjoy a family night-in about once a week. Usually it falls on a Friday or Saturday night and it’s a great time for us to spend time together, whether we are playing board games, cards (my daughter is extremely lucky… ) or watching a movie together, I do treasure these moments as I anticipate it might get harder to have my soon-to-be teenager to want to “hang with the parents.” I think though that teens, especially teens, still need this family time to reconnect and stay grounded during these rather whirlwind years. One of our new favorite movies, A Wrinkle in Time, will appeal to just about every family.…

Create an Indoor Oasis
Lately I have been really into gardening. I find it relaxes me and I love seeing my little garden bloom! And now I’ve moved onto bringing more houseplants into our new place. I love having plants in each room and I’ll share with you some pictures of our new plant additions. I almost feel like we need to start giving them names like Earl, our Staghorn Fern which I picked up at an estate sale over 15 years ago. They estimated that “he” was already 40 years old. Being so old, you can see why I thought he deserved a name. I went on a hunt to find some easy-to-care-for houseplants…
