Dwell :: 5 Steps To a More Productive and Sustainable Home Office
Many of us work-at-home parents, home business owners and freelance writers spend hours behind closed home office doors. I’m sure we all have the standard amenities for getting our work finished – computer, desk, some sort of lighting for the wee hours of the night binges to meet deadlines, etc. The question I often find myself asking at the end of the day is; do I feel like I have had a productive work day? Could I be more productive if I make a few changes to your home office setup or my work routine? Usually, when we are plan out how we’re going to setup our home…

Play :: DIY Halloween Crafts
We just love Halloween around our house and already put up some decorations much to the dismay of my husband. As my daughter, her friend from the neighborhood and I were hanging spider webs around the trees, we were giggling that “dad” was going to think we were crazy for decorating so early. And no big surprise that when he came home that night, his first response was “Really? Her favorite part of the book is the About the Author page because…

Pumpkin is high in Vitamin E (Alpha Tocopherol), Pantotenic Acid, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium and Copper and a good source of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin A and C, Vitamin K, and Iron and Maganese. Pumpkins, like other members of the squash family, are thought to have originated from North America. The oldest evidence are pumpkin-related seeds dating between 7000 and 5500 BC, were found…

Instagram of the Day :: Blueberry Pie Makes My Heart Sing
Tis the Season for Baking! Oh yes, I LOVE Blueberry pie to no end. That first bite with just a hint of yummy whipped cream really does make my heart sing! This past week I was craving a good homemade blueberry pie so I got all the necessary ingredients (did you know a big bag of blueberries is $9.99? – crazy!) at the store and set about making oatmeal raisin cookies for my husband (his favorite), added some Ghirardelli chocolate chips in some of the batch (for my daughter) and while those were in the oven making the whole house smell wonderful, I searched Google for my favorite blueberry pie recipe. …
