Back to School :: Top Tips to Keep Your Kids Healthy
BACK TO SCHOOL: TOP TIPS TO KEEP YOUR KIDS HEALTHY Back to school is a bittersweet time: the sadness of letting go of the carefree summer days weaved in with the excitement to getting back into a routine. It is also a time of stress: getting organized, what if the kids get sick, after school programs and much more. I usually suggest to families to begin a structured routine a few weeks before school begins, for example, getting to bed a little earlier, eating meals at regular times, and eating more whole colorful foods that are packed with nutrients to support the body. Below are a few tips…

Dandelion Moms has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #RewardHealthyChoices #CollectiveBias The first wealth is health. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson Taking care of our health is so important and concerns all aspects of our lives. I know as moms we tend to put aside our needs but I am here to say that can be a unfortunate avenue to take – and this comes from my own experiences. Health :: Finding the Fountain of Youth

He was having some health issues and I mentioned to her about a book that I was required to read in my Masters in Human Nutrition program called Your Body’s Many Cries for Water, and suggested that he try to replace a soda a day with more water – replace one soda can with one more glass of water. This really is one of the best health books you can read concerning your health and I can’t say enough of how it…

Summer Fun :: Learning How to Surf
My husband has been waiting patiently for our daughter to be a strong enough swimmer to teach her how to surf. He has been dreaming of one day heading to the beach with her and surfing the waves together since she first started to walk! But he had to wait to teach her how to surf and make sure she was a strong swimmer. Strong enough to take a couple tumbles in the surf. I would advise the same if you are looking to teach your kids how to surf or have them try out a surf day camp. If you are on the coast – check into local surf camps and see if…
