Health :: Eating Sensibly Postpartum
Eating Sensibly Postpartum It’s of time of excitement, when your little baby has arrived; however, other emotions are also in the mix, like overwhelm, melancholy, and exhaustion. The first step in settling all of these emotions is acknowledging them and then taking action. It’s essential to listen to the demands of your body: take a nap when you need to, nourish yourself with a variety of whole colorful foods, and possibly take some supplements to keep you strong and healthy. 1. Keep Hydrated This is extremely important, especially if you are nursing, as approximately 90% of breast milk is water and dehydration may lead to fatigue, poor concentration, constipation…

The Importance of Community

These sponsored posts help support the site, but all opinions are mine alone. #ASweetSale #CollectiveBias #Albertsons It is hard to believe that we have lived in our neighborhood for almost 20 years now! Health :: Finding the Fountain of Youth
A few weeks back I was having lunch with a good friend and she was talking about how she was trying to get her son to drink less soda. He was having some health issues and I mentioned to her about a book that I was required to read in my Masters in Human Nutrition program called Your Body’s Many Cries for Water, and suggested that he try to replace a soda a day with more water – replace one soda can with one more glass of water. This really is one of the best health books you can read concerning your health and I can’t say enough of how it…

It was sitting amongst the hundreds of gorgeous picture books that my dream of becoming a children’s book author started to come alive. …

What’s for Dinner :: Italian Chopped Salad
With summer upon us it can be tough finding the time (or energy) to make dinner so I have been on the hunt for really simple yet healthy meals I can make in a moments time. Last week I picked up a premade Italian Chopped Salad at the grocery that included all the makings (Romaine Lettuce, Brocolli, Red Cabbage, Green Onions, and Parsley) for a yummy Italian salad. I wasn’t sure how much salami, etc., was included in the package so I went ahead and bought some nitrate-free salami (two types), mozzarella cheese, nitrate and MSG-free turkey and some grape tomatoes. I already had the dressing and Greek olives on…
