Brown Butter & Lemon Brussels Sprouts
These days I’ve been on the hunt for really simple dishes that I can put together in no time flat. I try to have the family “eat the rainbow” and these petite purple Brussels sprouts from Melissa’s Produce are too darn cute – and tasty! They look even gorgeous in person and would add some color to any dish! This brown butter lemon recipe is amazing and literally took me five minutes to put together. Health Benefits Brussels sprouts boast high levels of many nutrients and have been linked to several health benefits. Brussels Sprouts are really high in Vitamin C which is so important, especially around flu season. They…

Banana Bread Muffins
With this crazy heat going on in Southern California our poor bananas ripened up on our kitchen counter-top before their time! But since we were planning a family movie night I thought perhaps we can make a little treat using these ripe bananas and came across a delicious recipe from Love From the Oven. Be sure to check out her blog – she has some amazing recipes! I love that you don’t need a mixer for this recipe and it takes about 15 minutes (tops) to prepare. So if you have some ripe bananas hanging around, it’s worth the effort because in about 30 minutes you and your family can…

RECIPE :: Chef Debbi Dubbs Apple Pecan Salad with Goat Cheese
Recently I’ve started collaborating with Melissa’s Produce which is headquartered in Los Angeles. It’s funny how things come full circle as I had contacted them over 20 years ago on behalf of a Japanese company I worked with who sold medicinal mushrooms. Of course I love the name of the company (ha), but honestly I appreciate that they offer such a large array of unique and delicious produce. Last week, I had a chance to meet Chef Debbi Dubbs at her “A Little Book of Cheese” book launch event held in Melissa’s Produce demo kitchen and sample some of her recipes. We tasted several of the dishes listed in…

The Perfect Side Dish :: Fresh Garlic, Herb and Parmesan Roasted Potatoes
We cook potatoes a couple times a week in our household. My daughter is quite obsessed with potatoes, preferring the creamy small ones, and complains that I never make enough! I texted her last night while she was at drums with a new recipe idea and her response was yes, make them, but make more than 4. That girl loves her potatoes! Luckily, Melissa’s Produce sent over three bags of their medley creamer potatoes and some fresh garlic and we made garlic, herb and Parmesan potatoes to go with our steak dinner. Potatoes are good for you! Potatoes are a great side dish for any occasion! Not…

Nathan Turner’s Italian Cheesy Pull-apart Bread Recipe
Last weekend I had a chance to meet home decorator, cook and author at the Rejuvenation Costa Mesa Grand Opening party. I just had to get his book because I like to support authors and also because the recipes inside look divine. And I am hear to tell you after taking one look through, my husband and I just had to try his Italian cheesy pull-apart sourdough bread recipe because it was just jumping out of the page. This would be a fantastic party dish. What is better than pulling out a hot loaf of fresh sourdough bread stuffed with fresh herbs, three kinds of cheeses and butter AND…
