Order medicines online safely with the new .pharmacy
Recently, I had the opportunity to speak with Dr. Carmen Catizone, MS, RPh, DPh (Executive Director/Secretary of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy a/k/a “NABP“) and lawyer, Libby Baney, J.D. (Founder/Executive Director of Alliance for Safe Online Pharmacies a/k/a “ASOP Global“) regarding the June 3rd launch and release of .pharmacy [dot pharmacy] to the general public. This is a long time coming regarding verifiable and vetted online sites for ordering online medications (prescription or not). Due to the high-volume of sites (and ads) that consumers see on a daily basis they have undertaken the process of working with distributors and Pharmacy Organizations where they must pass a stringent 10-point system in…

Finding Soul in New Zealand: An Interview with Julie Bartlett
Six months ago my family and I embarked on an amazing 92-day journey to the beautiful country of New Zealand. I was personally ecstatic because this was my chance to be able to decompress and actually breathe, to take a break from the craziness that is involved with raising a family in a race to nowhere. Between volunteering at our children’s school, being a Girl Scout troop leader, and running a household of two girls, a busy father, and an aging dog amongst other things, I was ready to figure out how to unwind and really find the true purpose of life. And wow, did I find it…

Wellness :: One Woman’s Story
I have struggled with my weight ever since I was little. I’ve been on every diet from Weight Watchers to Jenny Craig. I even went as far as getting lap-band surgery eight years ago. I did manage to lose around 140+ pounds in about eight months. I was then blessed with the pregnancy of my first and only child and ended up gaining almost all the weight back during my pregnancy. A big realization happened a little over 3 months ago and I decided it was time to turn my life around and work on myself and my weight again. I realized I needed to start taking better…

Recipes :: Start Your Day Right!
About two years ago we came across The Magic Bullet (no, this is not a sponsored post – just want to share what works for us) and have been using it pretty much everyday. Whether we grind our coffee beans in it (comes with a couple blenders) or use it to make our healthy morning drinks – we love the thing! I was really impressed with the research behind why this blender is such a good investment – for your health! By blending/juicing you are able to eat a lot more of the recommended vegetables and fruit. You can read more about the benefits of drinking your vegetables and…

Have Courage and Be Kind ~ Cinderella
Have courage and be kind. Such wise words from Cinderella’s mother! As moms we are constantly bombarded with a million and one things to do every day, week and year. It almost feels like we are on a long windy road sometimes and we don’t really see an end in sight. And many of the things we are doing every day are for our family. The kids need our attention 24/7 and if we want to keep our marriage healthy – our husbands need some of that attention! I’ve heard that marriages are work – and need to be given attention to. It is so important to spend time each day just talking…

National Bike Month: Keeping Kids Safe
May is National Bike Month, which included National Bike to Work Week (May 11-15). Since 1956, National Bike Month has encouraged riders all over the country to explore the opportunity of bike riding and its many benefits. Now that my kids are getting older, they are both more interested in going out and riding their bikes. I’m not opposed to bike rides, but I tend to be worried about the dangers of cars. There are so many distractions for drivers today: cell phones, GPS screens on the dashboard, loud music. I remember riding my bike up and down the street as fast as I could go, no helmet, and…
