Taste of Nature Bars are a Healthy Snack for Kids and Moms
According to a recent national survey conducted by Kelton and sponsored by Taste of Nature, nearly all (98%) Americans snack, but nine in ten (85%) admit they find healthy snacking to be difficult. Americans struggle to find a balance between what tastes good and what’s good for them. Taste is the top consideration when making a snack choice (73%), which is more important than convenience (54%) or accessibility (35%). What’s more, half (50%) say that healthy snacking is so difficult because it is hard to find a healthy snack that tastes good. (Source: PR January 2014). As a mom to a kid who has a major sweet-tooth, I am…

Designing and Organizing for Busy Moms
Designing and Organizing for Busy Moms An emotional house is a term that realtors use to describe the well-cared-for home, a home that is organized and functions practically, yet is inviting and attractive. The cornerstones of an emotional house are harmony, balance, support and a stress-free environment. So how can you create an emotional house? Decorate and organize your home based on all four cornerstones. Image courtesy of Flickr Tips From the Experts Designers have a common theme in their decorating and organizing tips: declutter. Day Eight :: Get Your Home Delcuttered in 28 Days
Today on our Home Challenge adventure let’s work on our bathrooms. You know, the bathroom everyone uses downstairs or the one closest to your living room. That way, as we de-clutter and redecorate our homes, this room that gets a lot of attention from family and guests, will look sparkly and fun! The whole time we are working on this, keep looking at bathrooms in design magazines, Pinterest and even friends bathrooms and see what it is that you like about your favorites. Do you want a pared down bathroom or one that has little mementos from the kids. Or maybe a little of both! So let’s…

Day Seven :: Get Your Home Decluttered in 28 Days
(Photo: Yasuyoshi Chiba/Getty Images) Today let’s work on our fridges! Yay! No? I get it but you will be sighing a big Ahhh after you finish clearing it out. I don’t know if you can hear my sigh of relief but I have been saying it all morning – and even inspected my “new” and clean fridge a couple times! One of things the declutter experts say is don’t go out and buy containers, organizers, etc., until you have cleared away most of the clutter. That way, once things have been cleared out, donated, given away, or sold, you will know what you really need and don’t have…

Day Two :: Get Your Home Decluttered in 28 Days
Today we will work on the front entryway – inside the home. Yesterday we worked on the front doorstep – raked leaves, pine needles, and cleaned things up front so when you come home the first thing you see is a shiny and clean front area. If you are inclined, why not get some inexpensive flowers at Home Depot or Lowe’s and plant them next to your door so they are the first thing you see when you leave the house and when you come back to the house. I really believe this sets the tone for your day! With this in mind – let’s do the front entryway inside…

Day One :: Get Your Home Decluttered in 28 Days
A few weeks back I had a friend come by who helped me rearrange my living area to be more open and inviting. She brought along a good friend of hers, Paul, who was visiting with his family from Ireland. She had told he had a knack for visualizing spaces and offered to help! I was game as I had wanted to rearrange our living area but didn’t know where to start. As they both set in to rearrange our living space, I started to look at our home with new eyes. He moved the table that we had set up for my daughter to use and play her LEGO’s on (yes, the container remained in our…
