Joy is in Season at Knott’s Merry Farm
JOY IS IN SEASON AT KNOTT’S MERRY FARM Live Entertainment, Spectacular Decorations And Festive Fun Nov. 21 – Jan. 3 This really the best time of year and one of my favorite places to visit during the holiday season is Knott’s Merry Farm. If you grew up here in Southern California, Knott’s was the place to go throughout the year – especially during Halloween and Christmas. It is so festive throughout the park and you are immediately start to get in the mood for some holiday cheer. I know it puts a smile on our faces everytime we visit Knott’s during this time of year. Plus my daughter loves their roller coasters! If you…

Exploring the Outdoors with Your Kids
Raising Happy and Healthy Kids: What is the best way to keep our kids happy and healthy? Take them outside. Now do not get me wrong, this is not going to be some post about how our kids should never play video games (my daughter loves Minecraft) but we should not live in a society where it is considered a punishment for your kid if you take away the electronic devices and make them go outside to play. Keep it Simple: A lot of times as parents we overthink things. What kind of craft should we do? What kind of game should we play? I need to set up…

Disney Pixar “The Good Dinosaur” Activity Sheets & Games
As a kid I was completely fascinated by dinosaurs. It just seemed amazing to me that creatures that big once ruled the Earth! And then over time, poof!, they were gone. I don’t think my mind at that time comprehended the damage an asteroid could do to our planet – and it stills seems pretty daunting don’t you think? My daughter shares this love of dinosaurs and we are really excited to see the new Disney Pixar movie The Good Dinosaur out next month. “The Good Dinosaur” asks the question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs…

Brave Beginnings : Helping Preemies Thrive
It seems like most women I know either had a tough pregnancy or difficult birthing experience. Luckily, my pregnancy was pretty easy though I had to go in to the doctor’s office every other week for the first two trimesters because I was considered “high-risk” due to my age (anyone over 35 years of age is placed in this category). However, the delivery was anything but and between hemorrhaging due to a torn placenta and emergency C-section it was a tough ordeal. Because of the torn placenta and severe bleeding, my daughter was immediately taken to NICU for monitoring. I would go visit her in the NICU and most of the babies…

Suffragette Brings to Light Women’s Fight for Equality
Last week I was asked to attend the theatrical release for the Focus Features movie Suffragette at The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences in Beverly Hills. I read the preview and it sounded like my type of movie so I asked my husband to be my date and accepted the invitation. The movie was released today, October 23rd, in selected theaters in Los Angeles and New York with a full release Thanksgiving week. So if you don’t live in any of those areas be sure to check it out next month. And be sure to bring your tween, teen, sister, mother and/or friend because this is a movie everyone young (and young-at-heart) should see! I…
