The Weirdest Foods You Can Grow In Your Garden
What really fires our children’s imagination is the extraordinary. Whether this week’s fixation is monsters, aliens, magical powers, superheroes or mythical lands, it’s always the strange and the super that inspires them. If you’re struggling to get them excited about their vegetables, then use this knowledge to your advantage: here are some right truly magical, and sometimes monstrous, fruits and veggies that you can easily grow in your back garden. The process of growing produce in itself can inspire a sense of wonder in children. Instagram Inspiration :: The Wonder of the Dragonfly
Last night my daughter and I were walking out our front door when we saw a rather large insect flying around our porch light. When we realized it was a dragonfly, I was a bit surprised as I have never seen one flying around at nighttime. So of course, this sent us on a quest to find out more about dragonflies. I love when nature inspires us to learn more about the creatures that share our planet with us and we spent the evening on Google learning about them! After much discussion we decided to call him (or her) Daphne. Though my daughter wanted to call him Gingivitis the Dragonfly. Funny…

SafeFARE Aims to Make Dining Out Safer for those with Food Allergies
When my daughter was six months old, she started to get really bad eczema on her neck down to her thighs. It was so bad I would get looks from other moms who I imagined were thinking what was I doing or not doing to help her! It took months to figure out what her allergens were, so I know firsthand how frustrating it can be trying to figure out what foods one has avoid. We ended up going to see Dr. Weinand of Neurowaves after her pediatrician, Dr. Bob Sears, recommended we give his alternative treatment a chance. And I must say it worked! After about ten treatments of this rather interesting technology, her eczema went away and to this day…

The Jolt Sensor Improves Concussion Identification in Youth Athletes
A few weeks ago I was contacted by a company whose Kickstarter campaign and product really intrigued me for several reasons. When my daughter started playing soccer, I was a bit concerned as I had read that the most head injuries for girls occur in soccer and cheerleading. Their developing brains aren’t really set up to be taking hits from a rather hard soccer ball. I realized that at this young of age, most of the girls are not heading the ball, but as she develops and grows, she will be put in situations where she might be heading the soccer ball more often. Truth be told,…
