Disney Pixar “The Good Dinosaur” Activity Sheets & Games
As a kid I was completely fascinated by dinosaurs. It just seemed amazing to me that creatures that big once ruled the Earth! And then over time, poof!, they were gone. I don’t think my mind at that time comprehended the damage an asteroid could do to our planet – and it stills seems pretty daunting don’t you think? My daughter shares this love of dinosaurs and we are really excited to see the new Disney Pixar movie The Good Dinosaur out next month. “The Good Dinosaur” asks the question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs…

Suffragette Brings to Light Women’s Fight for Equality
Last week I was asked to attend the theatrical release for the Focus Features movie Suffragette at The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences in Beverly Hills. I read the preview and it sounded like my type of movie so I asked my husband to be my date and accepted the invitation. The movie was released today, October 23rd, in selected theaters in Los Angeles and New York with a full release Thanksgiving week. So if you don’t live in any of those areas be sure to check it out next month. And be sure to bring your tween, teen, sister, mother and/or friend because this is a movie everyone young (and young-at-heart) should see! I…

After partnering with many education-based organizations such as the National Education Association and the National PTA, PACER has become a reliable source for parents, students, and teachers to get valuable resources about bullying prevention. The campaign has expanded to a month-long awareness event. Students, parents, and teachers are encouraged to take part in activities that educate and inform. Teaching our children and our peers about kindness, acceptance, understanding, and getting involved. According to PACER, 1 out of every 4…

Family :: Tis the Season for Some Downtime
It seems like every mom I run into these days has a look of “oh, boy, the holidays are almost here!” This time of year can be so hectic between shuffling the kids to hockey games, helping solve their quadratic equations and giving the little ones their baths, that you might skip doing the things that help keep you in a balanced and calm state. Why not take a walk with some friends? Or head out to your favorite breakfast sans kids and read a book while enjoying a hot cup of coffee. Or maybe catch up on some missed episodes – if not full seasons – of some your favorite shows. Did…
