Getting Organized Step by Step
One of the resolutions I made for this year is to get more organized and to get my house decluttered. Our place is not that big and piles of something always make their appearance each day. Whether they be school papers and homework from my daughter, bills and mail on the kitchen countertop, or my work papers on the kitchen table, I feel it is a never ending battle. Plus throw in the equation that I am not one of those Born Organizers as the Flylady tagged as women who just know how to get and keep it all organized. You probably have some of those friends – you…

A Time of Reflection and Planning for the New Year
It seems like this year has gone by in a blur. There were so many wonderful things that we celebrated together as a family – like my daughter starting first grade, learning how to read, finishing her first YMCA triathlon for kids and has the medal hanging in her room that she likes to show anyone who comes to visit, to getting a new family dog. We are attempting to teach him that he is a dog and not a human as he so thinks. When I look back at the photo’s I took on my iPhone over the past year, I realize we really did have a great time…

Musings :: “I Like You” – Words that Heal
Last week, really this whole month has been so crazy for us as I am sure it has been for most families. It seems like we have been going from one event to the next. I was telling my husband last week that most of the moms I see and talk to at drop-off look like they are feeling the stress of the holidays as well. Tis the season I guess! But among all this hustle and bustle, my daughter did something that made me stop and think about what the holidays are really about. They shouldn’t be about being too stressed to enjoy this season of joy and hope. …

Musings :: The Importance of Doing
The Mom It Forward crew asked their mom blogger community a few weeks ago to participate in the United Nations Federation and 92Y #GivingTuesday event that happens once a year on December 3rd. The premise is to give back to your community in whatever capacity you can. This falls in-line with the concept behind our dandelion moms Project Kindness so we were happy to participate. I wasn’t able to organize our event on December 3rd but we scheduled it for the following Tuesday, December 10th. I figured any time is a good time to give back. And hey, there are five Tuesdays in December so there is till time to be involved…

Dandelion Moms Project Kindness Joins #Giving Tuesday in December
I first heard about #Giving Tuesday from the crew over at Mom It Forward. #GivingTuesday is a day for giving thanks. On Tuesday December 3, 2013, global charities, families, businesses, community centers, students and more will come together to create #GivingTuesday. It’s a simple idea. Just find a way for your family, your community, your company or your organization to come together to give something more. Then tell everyone you can about how you are giving. Be a part of a national celebration of our great tradition of generosity. There are 5 Giving Tuesdays this month so join in and help out where needed in your community. Join us…

I am Taking the BlogHer NaBloPoMo November Challenge!
Lately, I have needed a kick in the you know what to be inspired to get my daily posts up. Some days the creative juices aren’t flowing and it can be tough to be inspired every day to write something that you think your readers will find inspiring, useful, or interesting. That is why when I read about the BlogHer NaBloPoMo November Challenge, I thought this just might be the thing to get me back on track and start blogging/posting with fresh eyes. Basically, the challenge is to write a post daily. That’s it. But if you know about the writing process – it isn’t always that easy to write good…
