Party Ideas :: Balloons Make Any Party That Much More Fun!
Balloons can make any type of party that much more fun and colorful! I think I love balloons as much as I love polka dots – both remind me of childhood and just bring a smile to my face. There are a ton of ideas on how to incorporate balloons into a birthday party, baby shower, or even surprise someone special with a box of balloons on their doorstep. I might be an adult now (and forever 28 years old) but I still love love balloons and would be totally thrilled to either get or give a box of balloons! At my daughter’s birthday parties they always play a part…

Family :: Staying Fit Together
Image courtesy of Flickr If you are like most busy moms, you are constantly trying to find ways (and time) to exercise. My daughter just had three weeks of Spring Break; having her home was fun but it definitely threw a wrench in my routine. I found myself having to sneak in creative workouts that she wanted to participate in. How did I get her to want to exercise? Simple: I changed the way I talked about physical activity, I made it fun! Have A Dance Party Whether your child is a toddler or a teenager, I can’t think of anyone who doesn’t love dancing?…

Get Away Today Offers Affordable Disneyland Family Travel
Disney On the Brain: This past month has been a whirlwind of all things Disney! My family and I spent four days and three nights at the Disneyland Resort for the Disney Social Media Moms conference where I developed a newfound love for anything Disney. Disneyland really is a top notch family destination and the customer service is just wonderful! We stayed at the Disneyland Resort and I was so impressed with the quality of the food and our room. One of our favorite things in the room (besides the Mickey Mouse lights) was the backboard – when you flip a switch, the board lights up like there is a fireworks…

Healthy Communication and Emotional Development
Photo courtesy of Flickr A common issue in relationships, and an important one for parents to learn, is communication. Many of today’s modern couples were reared in baby boomer, or post-baby boom, homes, and we see a common theme emerge from this generation of parents. The baby boomers of course were the generation that pushed social change to the forefront. Theirs, in essence, was the first generation to value individual emotional needs. In large part this transformation accompanied civil and women’s rights. I put this in context of communication because a classic and painful issue that thwarts communication is something occasionally termed codependence. Codependence is fairly…

Image courtesy of Flickr What Moms Really Want for Mother’s Day She changed your diapers, fixed your boo-boos and, let’s not forget—she also brought you into this world. Don’t thank Mom with a mediocre dinner and box of chocolates this year—instead, put some thought into discovering what she really wants (like she does for you each time your birthday rolls around!). Here are a few thoughtful ways to appreciate Mom this Mother’s Day. Photo by thomasswanhoff via Flickr Relaxation A study recently conducted by Forbes.com and TheBump.com reported that 92 percent of working moms and 89 percent of stay-at-home moms feel overwhelmed by work, home and…

Disneynature Celebrates Earth Day with their new movie BEARS
Image courtesy of Disneynature Disneynature BEARS: Last week I attended the Disney Social Media Moms conference with my family and had a wonderful time! It really was a dream trip for my whole family and I plan to write more about the trip and how I have a newfound love for anything to do with Walt Disney. What a truly inspirational man and visionary! As part of the conference, we were treated to a pre-launch viewing of the new Disneynature movie BEARS. I really love nature movies and I told the dad who I sat next to in the theater to not be alarmed if I started crying as I…
