The Majestic Kelp Forests Of Catalina
Not many people realize that one of the most beautiful forests in California is the one under the water, just off shore. -That’s right, the pacific coast is home to one of the most beautiful kelp forests on the planet, and most people watch those beautiful sunsets without the slightest idea that the sun is setting on a whole new world under there. I just got back from a three-day live-aboard dive trip near Catalina, an island off the coast of Los Angeles. I was aboard The Sand Dollar, a dive boat that provides live-aboard diving excursions nearly 365 days a year. Before I get to the sights, let me…

A Beautiful Fall In Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a wonderful place to visit any time of year, but Fall is especially nice with beautiful, warm days and lots of fun activities. While it can get a little nippy at night with the ocean breeze, a sweatshirt or light sweater will usually be enough. Santa Monica hosts many fun activities through the months of October through November. If you missed the Halloween fun, be sure to check out the Thanksgiving and Christmas activities. Every year, Downtown Santa Monica creates a little piece of heaven known as ‘ICE at Santa Monica‘ right on the corner of 5th Street and Arizona Avenue. This incredible outdoor skating rink gives tourists…

Grand Cayman Adventure
Whenever I think about Grand Cayman I flash back to the movie ‘The Firm‘. Money Laundering, power, and greed are the things that come to mind. Funny how something from a movie can stay with you for so long. Grand Cayman is a beautiful island about 22 miles long. For such a small place it boasts just under 600 bank-and-trust companies. Pretty impressive for such a tiny hideaway. According to wikipedia, 43 out of the 50 largest banks in the world are found on Grand Cayman. Just one of the reasons that Grand Cayman a very powerful place. As you can imagine, banking and investments are a big part of…

Haunted Lagoon: Dreams and Nightmares In Laie
It’s time once again to face your fears. October is upon us, and now is the perfect time for a ‘Haunted House‘ pick me up. This past week I had the chance to visit a very ‘fun twist’ on a Haunted House; the Haunted Lagoon in Laie, Oahu. It was amazing! What could be better than a haunted lagoon, a canoe ride, dozens and dozens of swamp creatures and ghostly apparitions? What a Halloween treat! Laie is a small town on the North Shore of Oahu. Even though it’s a small town it gets plenty of traffic because of the BYU Hawaii campus, the LDS Temple and The Polynesian Cultural…

A Truly Magical Cruise With Disney
When it comes to Disney, I have to say they go all the way. I have been on a number of cruises, and my cruise with Disney aboard the Disney Magic was as ‘magical’ as it could possibly be. This is not just a cruise for little ones, although I will say that Disney sure knows what it’s doing when it comes to keeping the young entertained. The daily activities that were scheduled for the young and old (well, more like middle aged) alike kept us all hopping. I’m not kidding when I say we could have stayed on board that ship every day, all day, for a month and not run…
