The Fiona Drink: Inspired by Tim Burton’s Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children
After seeing an early screening of Tim Burton’s newest movie Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children we were inspired to create a drink that Tim Burton fans could enjoy! Be sure to check out our review of this awesome and peculiar movie here out in theaters September 30th. Following is a delicious and awe-inspiring drink our friend and talented bartender, Kevin Feldman, created after Fiona, the feisty peculiar child with wild red head that can control and grow plants quickly. Here is what he has to say about his inspiration in creating The Fiona: As the watermelon/sage ice cube melts in this herbal smoky cocktail, the powers (ability to control plants) of a…

During my first year in college, my parents sent me a couple care-packages throughout the year and I still remember how exciting it was to get something from home. Though our kids don’t like to show they are anxious about heading off on their own, I know that I was pretty nervous watching my dad walk into our small-town airport (I went to Chico State and the airport was teeny tiny back in the day) and head up the ramp onto the plane. I remember thinking “now what?!” I was on my own and didn’t know anyone. Luckily, I became fast friends with my dorm roommates but being out on…

5 Fall Fashion Essentials for Moms
Yay! It’s that time again for (most) of the country to pull out their Fall sweaters, boots and coats. Never mind that we are experiencing 100 degree days here in Southern California, I can still dream about the days we can pull out our Fall clothing. Yes, eventually, the days will become cooler and we can join the rest of the country – though our winters are pretty mild as you know. Trust me when I say there are many-a-day when I would love to wake up to seeing snow falling from my bedroom window. I can’t complain and won’t though I do have a little cold-weather envy… Here…
