Wickedly Fun Halloween Party Ideas
Every year since my daughter was about two years old we have hosted the neighborhood Halloween party. And each year my daughter and I are looking for some new ideas for decorating our front lawn and party table. She is quite the character and has been drawn to the sparkly skeleton heads found at Target the past few years so we do have an overabundance of skulls and bones! We set up a section reserved just for these spooky things but I wanted to find some new ideas that we can include in this years pot-luck party that both young and old can enjoy. Why I Joined the Clever Girls “Being Fierce” Campaign
The Clever Girls network is promoting a Being Fierce campaign that encourages women to talk about a time in their life when they found they had to step up and be fierce. In 2013, The…

You could serve these soups at your next dinner party as the pumpkins or squash look so pretty as the serving bowls. Enjoy the chilly weather with a nice bowl of homemade soup. Yum! Did you know the nearly 2,000 year old holiday was originally a pre-celebration for the Celts New Year, known as Samhain, which began on November 1, marking the end of summer and the beginning of the dark, cold winter? They believed that during this day the dead returned as ghosts and that the mere presence of these ghosts aided their priests in predicting the future. The Celts would set bonfires, make sacrifices of food and animals to appease their Gods and wear costumes to celebrate the day. Combined with influences from other cultures,…

Fall Fashion Trends 2013 :: Leather!
Finally, finally, finally the weather here has cooled down. Today was the first day it felt appropriate to actually have a pumpkin spice latte! Now that the temperatures are getting cooler, I am especially excited to wear one of the biggest trends this fall which is leather and faux leather. When I was in my early 20’s and living in New York City (showing my age now), I had 3 (yes 3) motorcycle jackets. How I wished that I had maybe one of them now?! Alas, I have found some great replacements of not only a motorcycle jacket (now referred to as “the moto”) but of some other fun key…
