Dandelion Moms Project Kindness for June
Last year my daughter played soccer through a really great program called Soccer Shots. I liked that at 5 years of age she was learning the basics of soccer set in a fun environment. There was a lot of focus on character building and on how we treat others as part of the program. I met the founder of Soccer Shots, JoBen, at one of the practices and we started talking about his organization and the important work they are doing with his nonprofit Beyond Boundaries Academy. I am so impressed with what the organization is doing as far as the character-building emphasis in the program as well as a providing a positive outlet for…

Instagram of the Week :: Meet “Earl” the Staghorn Fern
My Love Affair with Staghorn Ferns: The first Staghorn Fern I came across was years ago at a good friends housewarming party. Her family had recently purchased a home that had the most amazing plant hanging from the side of their gazebo. I was instantly smitten and set about finding out more about this exotic plant. Money :: Saving On Summer Fun
Saving On Summer Fun Those long, hot, lazy days are just around the corner. Have you planned how your family will spend them? Maybe more importantly, have you figured out the cost of your plans? There are about two months of days to fill during summer time off from school and kids want to be entertained every waking hour. No matter the size of your family, entertainment can be costly. With the average price of a movie ticket around $10 a family of four can expect to pay nearly $100 for a trip to the theater. I chose the movie theater example because it was a lower cost example…
