Fashion :: Get Your Shapewear On
I had no idea what a difference putting shapewear under my clothes would make. The story of Sara Blakely the creator of Spanx is awesome (To read more about her story: https://www.spanx.com/category/index.jsp?categoryId=11119558). In an effort to look better in white pants while getting ready to go to a party she cut the feet off her her pantyhose. That is how the hugely successful brand was created. Genius! I bought my first pair of spanx- a boy short style a few years ago .Why why why did I wait so long? I put them on with a maxi skirt that was a little more fitted around the hips and thighs.…

Teach Your Children About Philanthropy With Style
As warmer, sunny days approach and spring fashions hit stores, we exchange camel-colored cardigans and knee-high boots for colorful tanks and strappy sandals. During a visit at the mall for a quick errand, we push the stroller, hold onto the hand of our little one and admire the bright and bold looks that adorn storefronts. While shopping for Shindigz birthday decorations online for a one-year birthday party, our mouse eventually clicks on fashion blogs to see the latest spring trends and opens Pinterest to pin summery style inspirations. For busy fashionista moms who are eager to update their closet with cute spring items, new sun glassess are an essential accessory. Sunglasses…

Awareness :: Bake Sale for No Kid Hungry
Last year I did research for a post I wrote for a community website about the hungry in America. I was absolutely shocked at the number of children in the states who go to bed hungry. In the state of California, the Childhood Food Insecurity Rate is at 26.8% which equates to 2,453,770 children. These numbers just break my heart and I make it a point to drop off canned goods at our local food bank with my daughter as often as I can. Recently, I came across an organization that is helping to end childhood hunger and I wanted to share this with you to see if you and your kids would like to get involved! I…

Instagram of the Week :: The Joy of a Carousel
What is it about seeing a carousel that immediately lightens my heart and brings me back to my childhood? My daughter loves to ride them whenever we come upon one – whether it be at a shopping mall or at an amusement park. This past week we went to our local zoo that has a gorgeous carousel with all types of animals including a giraffe, eagle, tiger and even a nest that you can spin round and round. If the carousel attendant lets me – I jump on with my daughter and feel about six years old again. Most amusement parks have a carousel. Disneyland in Anaheim has…
