Artist/Illustrator Carolyn Le
One of my favorite things to do with my daughter is to go into the local bookstore and look at all of the beautifully illustrated children’s books. I am drawn to many types of illustrations – I wouldn’t say I have one style I favor over another as I think it really depends on if the illustrations can make you smile, laugh, and even cry. I came across Carolyn Le’s work at a local Society for Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) function about three years ago. …

Instead we are seeing women heading off to Walmar,t which has become the nation’s largest jewelry retailer for both real and costume jewellery. And in the real jewelry sub-sector, players include Kay Jewelers (Sterling Jewellers), and Tiffany and Zale. For the costume jewelry sub-sector, key players include Target and Claire’s. TRICK OR TRACK! Fun Apps and Tracking Apps
It’s almost that time of year again. The time when your inner child emerges and you get giggly with anticipation. Who doesn’t want to dress up (I’m not talking about all of you out there that have read “50 Shades of Grey” and you’re well…we’ll not get into “that” *lol* totally different post). From “zombies” and “vampires” to “zombies” yes, I keep coming back to “zombies”. Fascination with “Zombies” is at an all-time high! I’m not afraid to admit that out of all the things to be scared of “zombies” tops my list. It’s not funny. I seriously have a phobia of this. I even looked it up and the…

Pumpkins, Gourds, and Squash, Oh My!
October is synonymous with pumpkins, gourds and squash. Throughout the month, they are used for décor, the main ingredient of seasonal dishes and as children’s whimsical canvas for spooky designs. However, did you know pumpkins and gourds, as well as squash, come in more shades of color than orange or yellow? With over 300 varieties of pumpkins, gourds, and squash grown annually, it is amazing to discern the color palette of nature: oranges, greens, yellows, blues, whites, striped, splotched, and spotted. Textures also vary greatly. Due to the close familial orientation of the three, it can often be difficult to tell them apart. All are members of the Cucurbita…
