Eating Gluten-Free And Loving It!
When I first started eating ‘gluten-free’, most of the foods I found to eat were nasty, with a capital ‘N’. I tried all kinds of products made with gluten-free flours, and almost everything I tried was seriously yucky. The most brutal lesson for me was at Thanksgiving. I planned to make a yummy stuffing with store-bought gluten-free bread. I figured that with enough butter and spices I could create a delicious tongue-exploding wonder that my gluten-eating family members would think was the best tasting experience of their lives… I would surprise them later with the exciting news of how I made this delectable stuffing from gluten-free bread: Surprise! Well… I…

Disney’s Finding Nemo
You have probably seen the advertisments for the re-release of Finding Nemo in 3D this past Friday and maybe even went to see this wonderful and Academy Award winning story of Nemo, Marlin and his friend, Dory at the theatres! In the wake of this re-release, Disney has released two new apps including Finding Nemo: Storybook Delux and Finding Nemo: Interactive Comic. Finding Nemo: Storybook Delux: This is a great storybook app that has authentic underwater sounds, engaging narration and even original graphics from the movie. Friendship Between Two Female Hearts
In my early twenties it occurred to me that friendships are an active experience. It was early summer and I’d sent an email to Katie, my closest girlfriend in college, telling her I thought it wasn’t a good idea for us to live together the following semester. I felt our lifestyles weren’t conducive to sharing an apartment. A week or so later, with courage gained from several drinks at her local bar, she called me in the middle of the night to let me know exactly how she felt. Kate was angry and hurt not only about my decision, but the wimpy way I addressed it with her from…

ARTIST: Eli Halpin
I asked my good friend Jennifer Mercede for some artists she could recommend as I want to feature artists in all their glory on dandelion moms as I feel art can move and inspire us. One of my favorite things to do pre-kid (and when I had more time on my hands), was to go to estate sales as you can find the best abstract artwork from the 1950’s in our parts of the woods. My entire house is filled with this estate sale art as well as from some of my favorite local artists including Jennifer Mercede. One of her recommendations was Eli Halpin, an artist based in Austin,…

Time For A Trip To Paradise
The Islands are calling my name! Seriously; I can literally hear them saying,”come to me…”. Or, maybe it’s more like, “get a move on, girl!”. Either way the sunshine, water, and wind are calling me and I must obey. I love all of the Hawaiian Islands. They all offer wonderful beaches, relaxation, rejuvenation, romance, food, shopping and exciting things to do. Despite so many choices, the Island I visit most often is Oahu. So, let’s start there. Oahu My first visit to Oahu was when I was about 16 years old. It was an amazing family adventure. We snorkeled, swam in the ocean and played on the beach until…
