Mother’s Day Special at Medieval Times in Buena Park
We enjoyed a show at The Medieval Times last year and really had a blast! You can read more about our experience here. And our dandelion moms contributor, Heidi Deal, had a chance to go backstage and met the trainers, knights and even the horses! Read more about her visit here. I love how you can turn this family-friendly experience into an educational one as they offer tons of resources for parents and educators to use before and during their visit. Well, I am super excited to see that Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament in Buena Park, they think all moms are special. That’s why Mom is free* for…

DIY Mother’s Day Gift :: A Sharpie Art Apron
DIY Sharpie Art Apron Looking for the perfect handmade gift for Mother’s Day? Look no further! Make something useful that Mom will love. You will need: Apron (I bought mine on Amazon here) Sharpies, fine and ultra fine point Rubbing Alcohol Paint Brush Paper Towel Bird Template Print out the bird to size you like. I like to cut out the bird, play around to see where you want it and then trace around it. If you have transfer paper that will work perfectly. Start coloring with Sharpies. I placed a paper towel underneath to catch some of the alcohol. The alcohol dries really quickly. Some fabric…

What’s For Dinner? Spinach, Cheese and Bacon Frittata
This is my go-to meal when I am not sure what to make for dinner. It is really easy to put together and you probably already have the ingredients in your refridgerator so no need for an extra trip to the grocery store! That’s always a plus in my book! You can use a pie crust if you are looking for a more hearty meal but I prefer the crustless frittata since you are tasting the eggs, spinach and bacon more without the crust. But both are great meals for a special day such as Mother’s Day and easy enough for the kids to help out with. Enjoy! …

Geared to kids ages 4-7, OH NOAH! features the comic misadventures of Noah, a young boy staying with his grandmother in a community where almost no one else speaks English. As he tries to learn Spanish and makes new friends, misunderstandings land him in wacky predicaments, but he always manages to rebound and cheerfully learn from his mistakes. New animated videos and games are launching on April 30 (a day to honor and celebrate children known as “El Día de los Niños”). New content will include: “Making a Splash,” a new 11-minute video: On…

The Teen Hearing Loss Epidemic
Hearing loss in teens is becoming an epidemic in this country, with 1 in 5 teenagers measured as experiencing some form of hearing loss in 2010 (the date of the most recent study). My guess is that the numbers are much higher today given the ubiquitous use of earbuds and the frequent exposure that children have to loud noise at parties, movies and other venues. This is of tremendous concern to me because I have an adult-onset genetic hearing loss, and I worry that I may have passed it onto my two children. We won’t know for 15 years or so, but I require my children to protect their…
