Lately my daughter has been very interested in making stop-motion videos. She has been using her Minecraft characters to make these short clips using the LEGO Video App. I’ll have to post one of her video’s! She loves to show off her work to us and I think it is great that she is being creative. When we heard that the stop-motion animated television series Shaun the Sheep was coming out with a movie we couldn’t wait to go see it! The British series features Shaun and is a spin-off of the Wallace and Gromit franchise. After school on Friday we headed to our favorite local theater and watched it. …

Movie Review :: All Creatures Big and Small
This past weekend my family and I attended a screening of the new animated movie All Creatures Big & Small which recently debuted on Google Play and in select theaters. Based on the Noah’s Ark story, all the creatures of the world gather to board the great Ark before the flood arrives. This fun and imaginative story includes a few made-up creatures like the Nestrians. As the flood arrives two young animals are left behind and are forced to learn to work together to overcome the challenges of survival. They find friendship and learn a few things about themselves along the way. My kids laughed at the humor and…

Minions :: A Movie Review, Giveaway and Party Ideas
We had a chance to attend a prescreening of Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment’s Minions a few weekends ago and I have to say it is my daughter’s absolute favorite movie she has seen so far this summer. I do think Inside Out is a close second since we’ve seen it five times already but something about these funny little yellow guys had our whole family laughing throughout the movie. At the start of the movie we see that Minions began at the dawn of time where they started as single-celled yellow organisms and evolved through the ages, perpetually serving the most despicable of masters. Continuously unsuccessful at keeping these masters—from T.…

What’s Hot in Southern California :: The Irvine Regional Park
One of the first things I wanted to do when my daughter was first born was take her to the Irvine Regional Park pumpkin patch. We did go when she was only four months old and I was in heaven! See, I had dreamed about doing this with my yet unborn child. While we were dreaming of having a child my mind would go to “I can’t wait to take her to the pumpkin patch!” So it was super exciting for me to take her to the gorgeous Irvine Park years ago. It is now a family tradition and we try to visit every major holiday plus during vacations as there is…
