Medieval Times: A Knight To Remember

    February 26, 2015 /

The moment you enter a Medieval Times castle you are transported to the 11th century and a time of knights and nobility, surrounded by grand décor and regal characters. I was invited to attend an event at Medieval Times in Buena Park, California to get a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into making Medieval Times the #1 dinner attraction in North America. Hours before the show, the castle was bustling with people preparing for the evening event. We toured the main areas of the castle first where we received an up-close look at the knights and horses practicing their routines in the arena before the show. The team trains daily…

Big Hero 6 was a big winner last night at the Academy Awards, taking home the gold for Best Animated Feature! Inspired by the Marvel comics of the same name, Big Hero 6 is directed by Don Hall and Chris Williams, and was produced by Roy Conli. With the Blu-ray, Digital HD and DVD release streeting tomorrow, we wanted to celebrate the win by offering a copy of the Blu-Ray + DVD combo and these Q&As with stars Ryan Potter who plays Hiro.     Big Hero 6 is an action-packed comedy-adventure about a robotics prodigy named Hiro Hamada. This 14-year-old hero learns to harness his genius, thanks to his brilliant brother Tadashi…

Breakfast for Dinner: Cooking with Krusteaz

    February 18, 2015 /

February is National Hot Breakfast Month and Krusteaz has officially named every Wednesday in February “Breakfast Night”! According to Krusteaz, a national survey found that nine out of ten Americans say they eat breakfast for dinner, with 56 percent doing so at least once a month. For families, the trend is even more prevalent as 67 percent of respondents with children in the household say they have breakfast for dinner once a month or more. A variety of factors contribute to the rising popularity of breakfast for dinner, with the main appeal being ease of preparation versus a traditional dinner meal (43 percent).  For families especially, it’s also “a fun way…

Day 13 :: Get Your Home Decluttered in 28 Days: The Master Closet

    February 5, 2015 /

Are we really halfway there to getting our home decluttered and organized?!  You can start at Day One or any day to join in on the fun.  Yes, it is actually kind of fun to see stuff that you no longer need or want taken out of your home to give you room for the things you really love.  But take it step-by-step.  This isn’t a race.  We have researched organization tips and offer some advice and suggestions to help you de-clutter and design your home the way you have envisioned. I mentioned in previous posts that one of the things I realized after looking at décor magazines, Pinterest and…

    Family-Friendly Hiking in Orange County

    February 1, 2015 /

If you’re looking for something more adventurous than a walk around the block, here are three great locations for you to visit with your family. My kids are 3 and 6 (and sometimes lazy) but these are some of the adventures that inspired their legs to keep moving! Bommer Canyon – I knew there was a trail near Turtle Rock Nature Center, I just wasn’t sure where. So we parked at Turtle Rock and followed the trail signs. We ended up taking the paved pedestrian path, the Shady Canyon Trail, to the Bommer Canyon Trailhead in Bommer Meadow. There is a small parking lot there at the trailhead near…

Winter Trends :: In Love With Plaid

    January 31, 2015 /

Though we have mild winters here in Southern California, in most parts of the country they are enjoying (or putting up with) lots of snow!  When we do have a cold day, I love to pull out my scarves and coats.  Lately, I have been seeing a lot of plaid and I must say I am mad for plaid!  It is so colorful and cheerful, it can brighten up any outfit.  Here are some fun ways to incorporate plaid into your wardrobe.  Enjoy!     Layer It Up: Love this look!  And that hat is just too cute!  You can look for plaid scarves from Old Navy, Target, JCrew…
