    July 18, 2016 /

Don’t Miss Out: Halloween at Disneyland If you haven’t heard, Disneyland announced their official Halloween Time and Mickey’s Halloween Party dates for this year! This is one of the most popular times of the year to take the family out to Disneyland for a visit.  Halloween time is absolutely my favorite time of year at Disneyland and I can’t wait to head over there with my daughter.  The entire park is decorated in Halloween decor and you will find a ton of characters throughout the park (including the other visitors!).    Mickey’s Halloween Party Halloween Time will be taking place from September 9 – October 31. Mickey’s Halloween Party will…

Start Walking and Reclaim Your Mind and Body

    July 17, 2016 /

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.”                         ~ Albert Einstein A few months ago I decided to take time out for myself and get back in shape. I was SO over carrying this extra weight I gained from my neck injury and taking steroids (it is a real thing people) and I wanted to find a form of exercise that would fit into my busy lifestyle.  Heck, we are all too busy these days, but finding time to take care of our body is so very important. I think many times…

    History of Ice Cream

    July 17, 2016 /

Growing up our family would head to our local ice cream shop, Baskin-Robbins 31 Flavors, a couple times a month!  I would switch it up between a banana split or a scoop (or two) of vanilla ice cream on a cone.  For most people, ice cream brings back happy childhood memories!  Today, July 17th, is National Ice Cream Day and I wanted to find out more about this delicious treat that so many of us enjoy! Food historians tell us the history of ice cream begins with ancient flavored ices. The Chinese are generally credited for creating the first ice creams, possibly as early as 3000 BC.  Marco Polo…

Scrumptious Strawberry Recipes You Must Try Out!

    July 14, 2016 /

Fresh summer strawberries are one of the most popular, refreshing, and healthy treats. They also carry a number of health benefits. Did you know there are over 600 varieties of strawberries? The sweet, slightly tart berries rank among the top 10 fruits and vegetables for antioxidant content. (Source: Medical News Today).  They are an excellent source of antioxidant-promoting vitamin C and manganese and a good source of dietary fiber, iodine, and folate. And if that isn’t enough to convince you to eat more strawberries, they are a good source of copper, potassium, biotin, phosphorus, magnesium, vitamin B6, and omega-3 fatty acids. I have loved strawberries since I was a kid! They are…

Delicious Grilled Sea Bass Quesadilla Recipe

    July 11, 2016 /

Back in the day when most of our friends didn’t have kids,  we would meet up quite a bit for dinner and drinks.  I can still remember playing Cake and Beck on rewind late into the night.  One of my favorite dinners was the one our fisherman friend, Mike would make us by the poolside. His dad and him would go deep sea fishing quite a bit and he would bring us fresh sea bass and grill it on the barbecue and then place the fish in tortillas with some cheese.  They were the best sea bass quesadillas.  I have no idea why I have waited to make this meal again…
