There was a Marie Callender’s restaurant near my childhood home in Tustin and our family use to go quite a bit. Their homemade chili and cornbread are just amazing and I loved ordering their pot pies as well. For me, Marie Callender’s offers such comfort food. PBS Kids Nature Cat Encourages Outdoor Exploration
Last May at the PBS annual meeting we heard about a new PBS Kids show called Nature Cat that premieres tomorrow November 25th, after the first hour-long WILD KRATTS holiday special, “Creature Christmas.” Nature Cat is geared towards children ages 3-8 and is designed to encourage children to explore and develop connections with the natural world. The show was created by the very talented Rudman brothers, David Rudman (“Cookie Monster” and “Baby Bear” on Sesame Street; “Scooter” and “Janice” on The Muppets) and Adam Rudman (Tom & Jerry, Sesame Street, Cyberchase). November is Native American Heritage Month. A time for us to pay tribute to the ancestry and traditions of the first Americans. The people and culture of Native Americans were met with tragedy many times over as Europeans filtered into the New World, looking for riches and putting down flags, claiming the land as their own. The first Americans faced slavery and war, being defeated by guns and disease. But the traditions and culture of the first Americans remains to be an important part of history. Our history. Celebrating Families this Holiday Season
Some of you might know about our family’s difficulty conceiving years ago and were told that the only way I would get pregnant was if I went through months of fertility drugs and artificial insemination due to hormonal issues I was having at the time.
