New Krusteaz Cookie Mixes Make Clean Up a Breeze

    September 23, 2015 /

I don’t know where in the world you are, but in Southern California it’s been hot. Thanks to the heat, I haven’t been turning my oven on to do much baking, but I recently got a package full of really good reasons to bake cookies. Krusteaz sent me a package full of cookie mixes to try, complete with one apron for myself and an apron for one of the kids, a potholder, a set of measuring spoons and a super-fun set of cookie cutters. Despite the heat, we’ve baked a few batches and we are really enjoying the deliciousness of the soft, chewy cookies. The box came full of different…

Breakfast for Dinner: Cooking with Krusteaz

    February 18, 2015 /

February is National Hot Breakfast Month and Krusteaz has officially named every Wednesday in February “Breakfast Night”! According to Krusteaz, a national survey found that nine out of ten Americans say they eat breakfast for dinner, with 56 percent doing so at least once a month. For families, the trend is even more prevalent as 67 percent of respondents with children in the household say they have breakfast for dinner once a month or more. A variety of factors contribute to the rising popularity of breakfast for dinner, with the main appeal being ease of preparation versus a traditional dinner meal (43 percent).  For families especially, it’s also “a fun way…

Food :: Krusteaz’s New Flat Bread Mixes are Perfect for Dinner

    October 19, 2014 /

I like cooking with my kids. I especially like cooking things that are fun and easy and don’t require a lot of preparation. So, I was happy to be given the chance to try out the new baking mixes by Krusteaz. I was given a kit that included three new varieties of the Krusteaz Flat Bread mixes – Whole Wheat, Italian Herb and Garlic & Onion. The new flat bread mixes are perfect for sandwiches, pizza crusts or dipping. On our first try we used the Italian Herb. We threw together a quick pot of spaghetti and I realized this would be a good addition to the meal and…

Tasty Gluten-free Cookies On Sunday Afternoon

    October 21, 2012 /

Today I felt the need for a fun snack. Something with chocolate. Something chewy. Something to satisfy my sweet-tooth. For me this is always a frustrating moment, because I can’t just eat any sweet treat. It has to be gluten-free, or I become a very sick girl. The quest is on, then, for something yummy and delicious, …AND gluten-free. This is harder than it sounds, because most gluten-free foods, whether processed or ‘home-made’ are not as tasty as foods made with wheat flour. However, I will say that things are looking better. There are some amazing new gluten-free products hitting the markets, as well as bakeries and stores completely dedicated…
