    Jawsome Shark Party

    July 25, 2018 /

With shark week here this swimming with the sharks party was a no-brainer! Both my boys have summer birthdays and I thought what a better theme than “Shark Attack” for their pool party.     My main focus is always the candy table & the color theme. For this jawsome shark party we did blue, red & white for the colors. The candy table was my favorite! We had a shark bait station with gummy worms, goldfish, and Swedish fish candy’s. The table also included candy shark necklaces, coral reef rock candy, gummy life rings and of course gummy sharks. I love coordinating the colors of the candy to…

“One in a Melon” A Watermelon 1st Birthday Party

    August 8, 2017 /

Theme: One in a Melon [Watermelon 1st Birthday Party]  I was honored to collaborate with my best friend, Marissa Bell, on her daughters first birthday party. Here is her story of how she came up with this adorable theme one in a melon & how we created the balloon garland. The party was adorable and loved by all!   My husband, Dan loves to grill, he is known for his amazing BBQ so it was a given that whatever theme Everleigh’s 1st birthday party was he’d be providing his culinary gems. I thought of several different themes, all of which were super girly and frilly which, I didn’t feel went well…

Smurfs: The Lost Village Party, Craft and Recipe Ideas

    June 23, 2017 /

This past week we had a chance to host a Smurfs-inspired party in anticipation of the Smurfs: The Lost Village Blu-ray and DVD release beginning of July!  Be sure to check it out and host your own Family Movie Night!  I love simple yet cute additions that are easy for us busy moms to put together.  The mushroom tic-tac-toe game we created that was inspired by the Smurfs mushrooms and was super easy and you only need a few items.  The vanilla bean cupcakes are seriously the best ones I’ve made!  I do believe the addition of real vanilla bean is the trick.   Vanilla Bean Cupcake Recipe This…

    History of Ice Cream

    July 17, 2016 /

Growing up our family would head to our local ice cream shop, Baskin-Robbins 31 Flavors, a couple times a month!  I would switch it up between a banana split or a scoop (or two) of vanilla ice cream on a cone.  For most people, ice cream brings back happy childhood memories!  Today, July 17th, is National Ice Cream Day and I wanted to find out more about this delicious treat that so many of us enjoy! Food historians tell us the history of ice cream begins with ancient flavored ices. The Chinese are generally credited for creating the first ice creams, possibly as early as 3000 BC.  Marco Polo…

How Parties Affect Children’s Cognitive Development

    November 5, 2015 /

Children absolutely love birthday parties, especially if they are the ones who are celebrating and inviting all their friends. However, their purpose is not just having fun, blowing some candles and eating delicious cake – these are influencing children’s cognitive development more than anyone could imagine. Here are some main reasons that parents should take into consideration when trying to decide whether to throw a birthday party for their children or not. Trust us – you won’t regret if you choose to do it!       Showing Love Many parents spend a lot of time working away from home, which is why they are not with their children as much time…
