Tips for Keeping Your Furry Family Safe this Holiday Season!

    November 30, 2016 /

One of my favorite childhood stories I like to share is the one where my little brother (though 6″ feet tall he’ll always be my little brother) thought that our Standard Poodle, Max, ate the Easter Bunny one year.  He was around four years old and we were walking down the stairs on Easter morning only to find that Max had eaten our baskets filled to the rim with candy.  The chocolate was smeared all across our white carpet.  My brother started crying thinking that Max had eaten the Easter Bunny as well!  To this day I can hear his little voice crying “Max ate the Easter Bunny!”  My…

Tips for Being a Great Pet Owner

    March 7, 2016 /

Today’s post is sponsored by Lunchbox. Yes, I am one of those types of people who adore their pets! You can find lots of pictures of my furry Maine Coon cat and handsome German Shepherd on my personal Facebook and Instagram feed!   I know there are a lot of us out there! I’ve learned some important lessons on how to be a good pet owner.  Whether you adopt your pets from rescue groups or a local breeder, they all need some TLC and training.  Here are some tips I’ve learned throughout the years. Take them out for regular walks: You can usually tell which dogs get frequent walks just from their behavior while…

Tips for Raising a Good Dog

    November 6, 2015 /

I’ve mentioned that I grew up with pets my whole life.  There were always a few cats and dogs, with a couple goldfish around the house and one year we had around 15 animals in our home.  Yikes right?!  Our Standard Poodle, Heidi, had some puppies so our house was pretty hectic.  But I wouldn’t change any of that chaos as to this day I adore my furry family and really do look at them as part of our family. But just like raising good kids, we need to make sure we take the time to teach our pets, especially dogs, to be a good family member.  I have studied dog trainer…

A Craft & Recipe to Celebrate Your Favorite Furry Friends

    January 12, 2015 /

The only thing that can make a great movie or TV series even better is a four-legged star. Celebrating pets this month, Netflix has pulled together a few of our favorite dogs, cats and even monkeys who hit the big screen. Aside from upping the cute factor, these loyal companions can deliver important lessons on courage, protection and love.  I grew up with lots of pets in the house and I think at one time we had over 10 dogs, 3 cats and a couple goldfish living at our place.  Granted, eight of those were puppies our Standard Poodle had just given birth to, but I have always enjoyed…
