Disney’s CHRISTOPHER ROBIN out in theaters August 3rd.

    July 31, 2018 /

Winnie the Pooh is one of my favorite all-time characters. There is just something so sweet and endearing about him and his friends. Heck, even The Tao of Pooh is one of my favorite books. I even used A.A. Milne’s idea of having the stuffed animals in Christopher Robin’s bedroom stacked around his bed in my first children’s book, Penelope the Purple Pirate! In the first and last scene in the book you will find Penelope’s friends hanging around her bedroom. Hey, when someone has a good idea… And A.A. Milne has created on of the most timeless and endearing characters of all time! I am super excited that…

Amazing Mom Writes ‘Amazing Scientists’ to Empower Girls

    November 21, 2017 /

Julia Finley Mosca is a mom to a young daughter. She was frustrated with the lack of books showing girls and women in heroic roles. “It’s discouraging to think that with all the strides we’ve made in society, female protagonists (both fictional and non-fictional) are still severely underrepresented, especially non-white female characters.” Women are still the minority in STEM fields, which is one of the main reasons The Innovation Press and Julia wanted to do the Amazing Scientists series. Tell us about Amazing Scientists. I’m so excited about these books! The Amazing Scientists series is a fun and educational collection of biographies for kids. Each book details the life of…

It’s No “Wonder” Why We #ChooseKind

    June 11, 2017 /

We are so excited as a family to see “Wonder” coming to the big screen this November. My daughter read the book last year and fell in love with it and connected as well with it. She talked about “Wonder” from the time she started until she put it down – and it’s continued on. She even commented on several occasions that they should: “make it a movie”. And voila! Now it’s come to fruition. I’m writing this as a prod to go and see it when it comes out; although before that happens I highly recommend if you haven’t (or even if you have) to read the book [or…

Amy Krouse Rosenthal Brought Wonder into our Lives

    March 14, 2017 /

“Just look at us, all of us, quietly doing our thing and trying to matter. The earnestness is inspiring and heartbreaking at the same time.” ― Amy Krouse Rosenthal, Textbook Amy Krouse Rosenthal   Upon waking up I do what I usually do first thing in the mornings, which is check my Instagram feed.  I was surprised to come across a friend’s post wishing my favorite children’s author, Amy Krouse Rosenthal, family her condolences.  I immediately googled her name and read in The New York Times that this beautiful spirit passed away at the young age of 51 yesterday in her home of ovarian cancer.  So many thoughts rushed…

    March 30, 2016 /

Looking for an inspirational mom with a “you can’t stop me” attitude? Meet Tara Lazar (rhymes with bazaar), a creative mother of two who writes quirky, humorous children’s books−picture books and middle school novels−that kids (and adults) love.
