DIY :: Unique Pumpkin Decorating Ideas

    September 26, 2013 /

Have I told you all how much I love this time of year? Yes, probably in every post this past week or two!  We even started decorating for Halloween about two weeks ago. Much to the annoyance of my husband, but we (mainly me, but my daughter gets into it as well) couldn’t reframe from pulling out the decorations from the garage and started decorating early!  This week I wanted to start working on our pumpkins, but wanted to try out some unique DIY ideas and boy did we find some great non-carving pumpkin ideas.  I absolutely love the colorful pumpkins from the blog Whatever and we are heading off to the craft store…

    April 30, 2013 /

Most of us appreciate Mother’s Day more once we become a mom. It was fun to make homemade cards for our moms, but now that we are moms too, we understand how lovely it is to have a holiday that recognizes and honors motherhood. Show your mom how much you and your kids love her by making her adorable and useful gifts. Mothers Day Central suggests easy, attractive and functional gift ideas that grandmas are sure to love. Picture Frames If the outing went well, or if gram is far away, send her a picture for her fridge, desk or brag book. Pick up photo frames from a dollar…

    Fun Craft: Christmas Family Trees

    December 15, 2012 /

Christmas trees – they serve as both the main Christmas season decoration & a great bonding tool for family during the holiday season. Decorating them with your family enjoying carols & laughs along the way is one of the things I look forward to all year round. But why not take a twist to the traditional tree with your little ones? Nothing is cuter than a set of tootsie trees hanging on the wall. Materials: Non-toxic paint – green & yellow Black or brown marker pen Canvases – one for each family member Small items to decorate your tootsie trees – we used stick on jewels How To: First of…

Mommy & Me Owl Handprint Art

    October 18, 2012 /

Owls can be wise, all-knowing, and even whimsical. This autumn, owls seem to be all the rage in fashion, art and décor. Here is a delightful Mommy & Me craft to create with your young children this season. Materials: Non-toxic acrylic paint of your choice. (Owls typically are brown, white and grey; however, pink owls are cute too.) Craft paper of your choice. (I used a manila paper, but any craft paper will do.) Various styles and sizes of paintbrushes. A nearby sink to rinse small painted hands. Let’s begin: After selecting your color choice for the owl body, gently paint your child’s palm. Once the palm is painted,…
