1). Landing Spot.  This could be a console table, bench or a Japanese Tansu or even dress of drawers.  Figure out how much space you have in this area and go from there.   2). Storage.  We store our dog’s lease, keys and knick knacks in a felt IKEA basket I found a few months back.  At the time I wasn’t sure what I was going to use it for but I love the contrast with the Japanese Tansu.
