History of Minnie Mouse and Daisy: Minnie Mouse was created by Ub Iwerks and Walt Disney. The comic strip story “The Gleam” (published January 19-May 2, 1942) by Merrill De Maris and Floyd Gottfredson first gave her full name as “Minerva Mouse.” Minnie has since been a recurring alias for her. Both Minnie and Mickey were first drawn in 1928 by Ub Iwerks. Before Iwerks moved on to Universal Studios he created Minnie as a companion to Mickey Mouse and designed Minnie to fit in with the style of the times which was more of a flapper style. Disney Junior Sofia the First Series Review & Giveaway
Yesterday was a big day for all Disney princess-loving kids! Disney Junior animated series “Sofia the First”‘ premiered on January 11th! Sofia is a young 7-year old girl on the verge of becoming a princess. The format of the show is similar to Jake and the Never Land Pirates, but with a different theme. This series is based on the popular book Sofia the First written by Cathy Hapka and illustrated by Grace Lee.
