5 Pretty and Practical Travel Hairstyles
Since I travel all year long and am always looking for the latest teen hair fashions, I decided to share my favorite travel hairstyles with you! While traveling, I’ve noticed that not every hairstyle is suitable for travel days. For example, sometimes different types of travel days require different hairstyles. There are of course those few hairdos that look good and stay in place whenever you wear them. Here are some pretty and pratical hairstyles for travel days: One of my favorite hairstyles for those long travel days when you’re constantly moving around is a ponytail with a braid going down the side. A Journey to the Heart of Angkor Wat, Cambodia
For my 16th birthday, we explored the incredible and enchanting ruins of Angkor Wat in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Built hundreds and hundreds of years ago, Angkor Wat is the biggest religious complex in the world and has tons of temples, many of which are hidden and swallowed up by the jungle. I had always wanted to visit Angkor Wat and was so excited to be spending my birthday there. Even though we were there for a total of 6 days, we barely scratched the surface and there were so many temples we never got to see. To move around easily through the complex, we hired a tuk tuk driver to…

Parenting :: Creating Family Adventures
A year ahead for the family is all about taking on new adventures. If 2015 is any indication, they could be good, bad or just plain hysterical. Our family has taken a few adventures that have definitely created some lifelong memories. We tend to take day-adventures and one of our favorites that we laugh about all the time is the day we brought our big German Shepherd mix to the dog beach in Huntington. Your luggage is checked through to your final destination, you exit the aircraft, transfer gates, wait for your next flight, and then off you go to…

Mummies: Secrets from the Tomb
I love history. And my children are quite interested in happenings of the past, too, so it’s turning out that we make a pretty good team of explorers. So this year as part of our social studies, I purchased the Story of the World by Susan Wise Bauer. Story of the World comes in four volumes: Ancient Times, The Middle Ages, Early Modern Times, and the Modern Age. We started at the beginning with Ancient times and kicked things off with cavemen. Recently though, we’ve been finishing up our lessons about Ancient Egypt and the Pharaohs. I happened to check the website for the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles…
