Adventures in the Wadi Rum Desert, Jordan
During our visit to Jordan, we went on one of the most memorable journeys of my life – an overnight trip to the Wadi Rum desert. It was a two-hour drive from Petra, where we had made our home base for 2 weeks, to Wadi Rum. We arrived to the little town right outside the desert and met the Bedouin owner of the camp who invited us in for tea and explained our journey. We then met the Bedouin guide who would drive us through the mystical desert all day and the later to our tent where we would spend the night. As we ventured on our journey in…

The Mountain High Resort Offers Local Fun
We were invited to go check out Mountain High this month and spend the day skiing. I was a bit nervous to be honest as I have tried to take it easy since my neck injury last year but I figured if I could endure the Screamin’ Over California ride at Disneyland (my daughter made me do this on my birthday) then I was going to give skiing a shot. So here are the top 4 reasons why it is so important to volunteer…

Take Your Kids on an “Indiana Jones” Adventure in Petra, Jordan
Petra is an ancient archeological site hiding deep in a canyon in the mountains of Jordan. There are temples, tombs, and homes all built into the bright red stone. A day in Petra is like an Indiana Jones adventure for kids – hiking though canyons, discovering ancient artifacts, and exploring caves with hidden rooms and chambers. In order to get to the main site, you have to walk through a narrow canyon called the Siq. With every few steps, you discover something new as you follow the unexpected twists and turns. My son loved wandering through the Siq, as we all pretended to be on an adventure as archaeologists to…
