    June 24, 2016 /

Did you know that June is National Fruit & Vegetables Month? I didn’t until recently, and I think June is the perfect time to celebrate fruits and vegetables. Summer yields a delicious variety of fresh produce. Here are some of the fruits and vegetables that are in season now: Fruit: Peaches, Plums, nectarines, cherries, blackberries, strawberries, tomatoes, passion fruit, melon, and apricots. Vegetables: Radishes, beets, cucumbers, carrots, bell peppers, zucchini, corn, garlic, and rhubarb. What a wonderful assortment of fruits and veggies! And with school out, now is the perfect time to get in the kitchen with your kids and cook up some fresh recipes with some of these…

Disney Pixar’s Finding Dory Out in Theaters 6/17!

    June 18, 2016 /

The time is now and after 13 years, I am so excited to say that FINDING DORY is now playing in theatres everywhere! This is one of Pixar’s best films and I promise the whole family will love this movie!  Last month I had a chance to preview about 20 minutes of the much anticipated new Disney movie Finding Dory at the Disney Social Media Moms Conference and absolutely loved it!  I wasn’t sure if this movie could compare to Finding Nemo but it sure does.       Disney•Pixar’s “Finding Dory” reunites everyone’s favorite forgetful blue tang, Dory, with her friends Nemo and Marlin on a search for answers about…

Brain-Boosting Activities to Prevent the Summer Slide

    June 14, 2016 /

Studies show that during summer months kids who don’t read can lose two to three months of the skills they learned in school. Use it or lose it right? Yes, go to your library and get books. Join some summer reading programs. And encourage children to read for at least 20 minutes a day on their own. But here are a few other ways to keep their brains in business so they are ready for…

Parenting :: Addressing Tough Topics With Your Kids

    June 2, 2016 /

From tackling peer pressure to learning to achieve five whole minutes without a cell phone in hand, addressing tough topics with your kids head-on can be hard. Even with the littlest ones, it’s not always easy to explain why you can’t get them that cute puppy and why they need to be nice to their sister. But with Netflix, your kid’s favorite shows can open the door for these tricky, sometimes awkward (hello parents of tweens and teens!), conversations. Netflix is host to a variety of family-friendly shows that explore a range of real-life issues with equal measures of humor, angst and heart. No matter your situation, chances are there’s…
