Mother’s Day Giveaway
Yay! Mother’s Day is just around the corner! Have you hinted yet about what you would like on your special day? I am so very thankful that I have a little girl who calls me mom (or sometimes mommy) and couldn’t feel more blessed that she is my daughter. Some of my favorite Mother’s Day gifts are the ones she made by hand. These hold a special place in our home and it reminds me of how lucky I am. Watching her grow which sometimes feels right before my eyes – she is growing like a weed these days – has been one of my biggest joys. Motherhood…

Believe It or Not, Siblings Can Get Along
Last month I sent my brother this meme to wish him a Happy National Siblings Day and this is the one he texted back. What a character, right?! Did you get along with your siblings growing up? My brother and I are about 4 1/2 years apart so I tended to treat him more like my baby and would take turns with my mom pushing him around in his stroller. But I’ve personally witnessed the impact and ripple effect caused by a simple act by my son’s teachers almost 20 years ago. It all started with a hug. Like so many on the autism spectrum, my son’s first experiences at school were difficult. The kids at school either ignored him or bullied him. The teachers at this first school just didn’t work well with students who learned differently. Though he wasn’t diagnosed at the time, we could see that he was struggling to keep up with his peers,…

Whether in your home, garden or traveling, here are tips for surviving mosquito season!
Just the other day I was talking to a friend about how mosquitos LOVE me! No joke, if I am with a big group of people, guess who gets eaten alive? Yep! Not sure exactly what attracts mosquitos to one person more than another but I hope to find out after taking the Orkin’s “Buzzer Beater” blog app. During my travels through Vietnam and Thailand many moons ago, I use to have to slather on tons of mosquito repellant but really to no avail. It didn’t really matter what I put on, they’d find the areas I’d not reached and have a little feast. Do you have the same…
