    Celebrating Families this Holiday Season

    November 21, 2015 /

Some of you might know about our family’s difficulty conceiving years ago and were told that the only way I would get pregnant was if I went through months of fertility drugs and artificial insemination due to hormonal issues I was having at the time. Since my mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at a young age  (48), I wasn’t too keen on disrupting my hormones with drugs.  Hearing those words in the doctors office was very painful and I remember feeling like I was somehow failing – myself and my husband. I think feeling this way is pretty normal when you are told you cannot have a child naturally and…

Doc McStuffins: Pet Vet on DVD

    November 18, 2015 /

Doc and the Toys Highlight  Lessons About Care and Responsibility for Pets In:   DOC MCSTUFFINS: PET VET Available now on DVD! Includes 5 Pet-Themed Episodes Plus FREE, Exclusive Pet Collar Packed Inside!  We love Doc McStuffins for so many reasons and we are super excited about the latest DVD that includes 5 pet-themed episodes and teaches children about taking care of pets.  I have mentioned that I grew up in a household filled with cats and dogs – most of them rescues.  I think it is so good for a child’s development to learn about taking care of little animals.  It teaches them about responsibility and being empathetic towards others.  I love this!  …

Alice Through the Looking Glass Reunites Cast

    November 9, 2015 /

Growing up, Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland was one of my favorite stories as it really stretches your imagination.  Alice falling down the rabbit hole, shrinking and then growing after drinking a bottle of who-knows-what that was labeled drink me, are just some of the fantastical visuals we enjoy in Alice in Wonderland.  It is a story and classic movie that really opens up worlds of possibilities! I was so happy to see Tim Burton create a whimsical and other-worldly Alice in Wonderland movie a few years back.  Have you seen this movie yet?  I think it is best for tweens on up as there can be some scary parts for the littles.…

Tips for Raising a Good Dog

    November 6, 2015 /

I’ve mentioned that I grew up with pets my whole life.  There were always a few cats and dogs, with a couple goldfish around the house and one year we had around 15 animals in our home.  Yikes right?!  Our Standard Poodle, Heidi, had some puppies so our house was pretty hectic.  But I wouldn’t change any of that chaos as to this day I adore my furry family and really do look at them as part of our family. But just like raising good kids, we need to make sure we take the time to teach our pets, especially dogs, to be a good family member.  I have studied dog trainer…
