Walt Disney Animation Studios Zootopia Out in Theaters Now!

    March 4, 2016 /

“In Zootopia, anyone can be anything.”     In its 92-year history, Walt Disney Animation Studios has created a long and storied legacy of talking-animal films—from Mickey Mouse’s debut short “Steamboat Willie” to “Bambi,” “Dumbo,” “The Jungle Book,” “Robin Hood” and “The Lion King.” WDAS returns to the wild with the feature film “Zootopia.” “We all grew up watching the great Disney animal films—we were immersed in those worlds,” says director Byron Howard. “My favorite childhood film was ‘Robin Hood,’ and we wanted to honor that legacy, but in a new and different way that dives even deeper. We started by asking, ‘What would a mammal metropolis look like…

The Peanuts Movie Brings Back Memories

    November 10, 2015 /

Ever since I’ve seen a preview for The Peanuts movie at a Knott’s Berry Farm event last year, I have been on the edge of my seat waiting to see this movie.  I absolutely LOVE the entire crew and use to carry around a stuffed Snoopy as a kid.   Because of my fascination with all things Peanuts,  I’ve interviewed and featured Charles M. Schulz wife and his son Craig (who shared with me that he was the inspiration for Pigpen – shhh!). He shared this with me after I told him our (secret) nickname for my daughter is Pigpen.  At pickup at school she usually looks like she rolled around in the dirt…

Shaun the Sheep Review, Craft Ideas and Giveaway

    August 9, 2015 /

Lately my daughter has been very interested in making stop-motion videos.  She has been using her Minecraft characters to make these short clips using the LEGO Video App.  I’ll have to post one of her video’s!  She loves to show off her work to us and I think it is great that she is being creative.  When we heard that the stop-motion animated television series Shaun the Sheep was coming out with a movie we couldn’t wait to go see it! The British series features Shaun and is a spin-off of the Wallace and Gromit franchise.     After school on Friday we headed to our favorite local theater and watched it. …

Minions :: A Movie Review, Giveaway and Party Ideas

    July 9, 2015 /

We had a chance to attend a prescreening of Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment’s Minions a few weekends ago and I have to say it is my daughter’s absolute favorite movie she has seen so far this summer.  I do think Inside Out is a close second since we’ve seen it five times already but something about these funny little yellow guys had our whole family laughing throughout the movie.  At the start of the movie we see that Minions began at the dawn of time where they started as single-celled yellow organisms and evolved through the ages, perpetually serving the most despicable of masters.  Continuously unsuccessful at keeping these masters—from T.…
