This is one of our favorite PBS KIDS’ show for so many reasons! The music is super catchy and you can’t help but want to dance around to the fun tunes to learning about our solar system. Astronomy has been one of my personal favorite subjects since I was a kid and to this day I still love watching Sci-Fi/Fantasy movies since most are placed on other planets and solar systems. Celebrate Earth Day All Month Long With PBS Kids!
Beginning this month, PBS KIDS is springing into Earth Month with its annual Explore the Outdoors initiative, encouraging families to get outside and discover nature. Our family loves to take nature walks and we try to do this together a couple times a week. Sometimes we head to our local park with the dog (though he is not a good family walker – he gets too excited and does better on solo walks!) or the Back Bay while our daughter rides her bike. PBS Kids READY JET GO! Premieres February 15th
Last year at the PBS annual meeting we learned about a new series, READY JET GO! that focuses on astronomy, technology, scientific exploration, innovation and invention. The show premieres this Monday, February 15 on PBS stations nationwide. Seen through the eyes of Jet Propulsion and his family, we see what it is like to be an alien from outer space, the whole while learning about our solar system, how it affects our planet and features live-action interstitials with Jet Propulsion Laboratory astrophysicist Dr. Amy Mainzer, who is also a science curriculum consultant for the series.
