THE 75TH ANNIVERSARY OF GHOST TOWN IS UNDERWAY The return of GhostRider and new interactive entertainment bring Ghost Town to life in Buena Park, California.  This past month I was invited to attend Knott’s Berry Farm 75th Ghost Town Anniversary kick-off.  We had a tour of the newly refurbished Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant and had a chance to try out some rides in Ghost Town.  I just love Knott’s Berry Farm and appreciate all the details that have gone into celebrating Ghost Town’s 75th Anniversary.     Knott’s Berry Farm Ghost Town delivers an awesome experience for visitors! Parenting :: Creating Family Adventures

    February 8, 2016 /

A year ahead for the family is all about taking on new adventures. If 2015 is any indication, they could be good, bad or just plain hysterical.  Our family has taken a few adventures that have definitely created some lifelong memories.  We tend to take day-adventures and one of our favorites that we laugh about all the time is the day we brought our big German Shepherd mix to the dog beach in Huntington.  He was so excited he could barely contain himself!  In fact, he thought it was a good idea to eat all the sand he could find, run in the water after every dog he came across,…

    Mummies: Secrets from the Tomb

    January 29, 2016 /

I love history. And my children are quite interested in happenings of the past, too, so it’s turning out that we make a pretty good team of explorers. So this year as part of our social studies, I purchased the Story of the World by Susan Wise Bauer. Story of the World comes in four volumes: Ancient Times, The Middle Ages, Early Modern Times, and the Modern Age. We started at the beginning with Ancient times and kicked things off with cavemen. Recently though, we’ve been finishing up our lessons about Ancient Egypt and the Pharaohs. I happened to check the website for the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles…

Knott’s Berry Farm Offers Affordable Fun!

    January 1, 2016 /

Yesterday our family spent the New Year’s Eve at Knott’s Berry Farm and had so much fun enjoying the sights and sounds that this family-friendly amusement park offers.  From the Camp Snoopy to the more adventurous rides for daredevils (my daughter) they really have so much to offer.  I like that Knott’s Berry Farm is really affordable for families and that they offer 6 easy monthly payment plans for the Season Passes. They offer live entertainment, family-friendly rides, thrill rides, great food throughout the park and shopping.  It is a great place to visit throughout the year. Here are some of our favorite things to do at the park:   Visit…

Holiday Giveaway from Custom Comfort Mattress!

    December 26, 2015 /

I think sleep is right up there with my all-time favorite things to do!  This might be because I suffered from pretty bad insomnia in my twenties and early thirties and know what it is like to be sleep-deprived.  Heck, I think just about every parent on the planet knows what is like to feel sleep-deprived.  Those first couple months with a newborn is pretty rough don’t you think?!  Whenever I hear a friend has a newborn I think to myself that they are in the trenches… Part of getting a good night sleep is having a comfortable mattress and bedding.  Well,  Custom Comfort Mattress is celebrating this…
