What’s Hot In Southern California: Knott’s Berry Farm Boysenberry Festival: This spring, celebrate Knott’s delicious roots during its Boysenberry Festival harvested in the theme park’s historic Ghost Town. The 16-day festival returns with an unforgettable lineup of exquisite Boysenberry Bites, dazzling entertainment, gourmet food and the Wine and Craft Brew Tasting Garden, plus the limited time return of the classic Bear-y Tales characters in a pie making kitchen, and more! I love exploring the park during this festival and tasting all the yummy food they are offering – especially the boysenberry pie and Mrs. Knott’s famous fried chicken – yum! Medieval Times: A Knight To Remember
The moment you enter a Medieval Times castle you are transported to the 11th century and a time of knights and nobility, surrounded by grand décor and regal characters. I was invited to attend an event at Medieval Times in Buena Park, California to get a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into making Medieval Times the #1 dinner attraction in North America. Hours before the show, the castle was bustling with people preparing for the evening event. We toured the main areas of the castle first where we received an up-close look at the knights and horses practicing their routines in the arena before the show. The team trains daily…

Culture :: History of Skateboarding in Southern California
Growing up in Southern California in the 70’s I was introduced to skateboarding early on. I have a vivid memory of skateboarding down the street near my house trailing behind my dog, Max (a large Standard Poodle) holding his leash while riding. I thought it a good idea to grab a tennis ball I found in the gutter and throw it and jump back on to have Max drag us along. Hmmm… not such a good idea as I went tumbling when my board hit a rock and I still have to this day a scar on my elbow. When my daughter asked for a board last year I did…

Summer is the perfect time to take a visit to the zoo and is a fun activity the whole family can enjoy. A place where you can see all your favorite animals. But imagine a world where your favorite animals begin to disappear one by one. No zebras. No pandas. Imagine the impact on our future generations. Preventing extinction is possible and is happening thanks to an organization committed to connecting people to wildlife and conservation on both a national and global level. San Diego Zoo’ Global :: Wildlife Conservancy In the modern era of zoos, it’s important to do more than just keep animals. We need…

Family :: Best Places to Visit in Southern California
My family moved to California when I was in kindergarten. Before that we lived in Austin, Texas but both my parents were from the Midwest and they told me it had always been their dream to live in sunny California. So when my dad was offered a job in Fresno, California, they jumped at the chance to realize their dream! We moved to Orange County while I was in second grade and I ended up living here through my college breaks. After attending college in Northern California, I travelled and lived abroad for about three years in Asia, but I came back home to Orange County in my late 20’s. My husband and I purchased our first (and present) home about…
