Family :: Tips for Making TV Night Extra Special

    March 1, 2017 /

Sneaking in a snack after 9 pm. “Helping” your kids with their school projects. Googling answers on family game night. We’ve all cheated. In fact, 46% of viewers are cheating right now—with their favorite Netflix shows. And it’s not just parents who are culprits of the crime, cheaters come in all sizes, so even the littlest ones can’t be trusted. I’ve been known to possibly sneak a bite (or two) of cake or chocolate when the kid isn’t looking (and I am sure she’s done the same!).  And when it comes to watching certain shows such as Stranger Things I wait until she is in bed.  Sometimes its nice to…

Netflix, Grace: A Storytelling Company (Grace), Thunderbird and Beyond Screen Production (Beyond) announced that seven more artists have signed on to participate in Beat Bugs, the new Netflix original series for kids that will bring families together over the music of The Beatles. Writer and Director Josh Wakely also confirmed at the Netflix Television Critics Association panel that the animated show, premiering August 3, has been renewed for a second season, premiering worldwide November 18. Australian Netflix members will be able to enjoy both seasons on Netflix soon after their premiere on Seven Network.  What an awesome idea for a show!  I love that they are introducing our…

The Netflix Sneak :: What’s the Craziest Place You’ve Watched Netflix?

    June 20, 2016 /

The Netflix Sneak: In the bathroom? Under the covers? Where have you done it? We know there are only so many times you can hear the Dinotrux theme song before you start sneaking off to binge the new season of Orange is the New Black in the bathtub or “do work in the garage” while you secretly watch Voltron: Legendary Defender. Don’t be ashamed, moms and dads, you’re definitely not alone. For June, we want to hear the craziest place you’ve done it – aka where you sneak off to catch up on your favorite Netflix shows. There’s no shame in cashing in on a little me-time.  Where do you…

Parenting :: Addressing Tough Topics With Your Kids

    June 2, 2016 /

From tackling peer pressure to learning to achieve five whole minutes without a cell phone in hand, addressing tough topics with your kids head-on can be hard. Even with the littlest ones, it’s not always easy to explain why you can’t get them that cute puppy and why they need to be nice to their sister. But with Netflix, your kid’s favorite shows can open the door for these tricky, sometimes awkward (hello parents of tweens and teens!), conversations. Netflix is host to a variety of family-friendly shows that explore a range of real-life issues with equal measures of humor, angst and heart. No matter your situation, chances are there’s…
