The Extended Stopover – How To See More of the World Without Spending More!
For many years now, my family has been enjoying the benefits of the EXTENDED STOPOVER and assumed everyone knew about it. But as I have been chatting more and more about our travels recently, I realize that very few people know about this awesome travel benefit. So here it is – one of my best travel tips! What is an extended stopover? I am sure most everyone has had to do a stopover (also known as a flight connection) on their way to their final destination. Your luggage is checked through to your final destination, you exit the aircraft, transfer gates, wait for your next flight, and then off you go to…

Mummies: Secrets from the Tomb
I love history. And my children are quite interested in happenings of the past, too, so it’s turning out that we make a pretty good team of explorers. So this year as part of our social studies, I purchased the Story of the World by Susan Wise Bauer. We arrived to the little town right outside the desert and met the Bedouin owner of the camp who invited us in for tea and explained our journey. We then met the Bedouin guide who would drive us through the mystical desert all day and the later to our tent where we would spend the night. As we ventured on our journey in…

The Mountain High Resort Offers Local Fun
We were invited to go check out Mountain High this month and spend the day skiing. I was a bit nervous to be honest as I have tried to take it easy since my neck injury last year but I figured if I could endure the Screamin’ Over California ride at Disneyland (my daughter made me do this on my birthday) then I was going to give skiing a shot. My goal was to not fall or break anything and I succeeded! As Borat would say “Great Success!” Even if you haven’t skied in awhile, it really is just like riding a bike. You pick it…

The Importance of Volunteering as a Teenager
This article was written by Kaitlin Murray – our new teen contributor. Volunteering changed my life. I learned more about myself and about the world than I ever thought I would. Not only did it shape me as a person, but it also changed my perspective on the world and on life, giving me an incredible insight to the world that surrounds me. After one month of meeting refugees escaping Syria, Iraq, and other war-torn countries, I learned how great it is to give of our hearts and our time, but most importantly to love people unconditionally. So here are the top 4 reasons why it is so important to volunteer…
