Useful Tips for Making Moving Less Stressful

    June 29, 2016 /

Moving day can be so stressful!  Our family is looking to possibly make a move in the near future so I searched for some helpful moving tips as I know there must be a better way to move than the way we have done it in the past.  You know, where some items get shoved into a box with no labeling and are still sitting in your hall closet after ten years.  Not saying that is what we did (yeah, right). But throughout the years I have come across some great tips that will help with moving day.     Have each family member pack an overnight bag with their…

    Disneyland: The Ultimate Family Destination

    June 28, 2016 /

My favorite go-to travel agency Get Away Today launched a one week only Disneyland ticket sale that is good for travel any time in 2016. Yes, if you grab their sale now you can travel any time this year that works best for your family! Adults can save up to $15 per ticket with their Adults at Kids’ Prices sale on any 3-day or longer Park Hopper Tickets. These tickets also come with one Magic Morning early entry for Disneyland.  You definitely want to take advantage of that as you can run right up to your favorite rides before the park gets busy.   The nice thing about…

Travel :: A Lesson In The Desert

    May 27, 2016 /

The Joshua tree is commonly found in the Mojave Desert, the Sonoran Desert, and some areas of the San Bernardino Mountains. Native Americans used the rough leaves of this tree to weave baskets and sandals, and ate the flower buds and seeds.  Unlike other trees, Joshua trees have no rings so we are unable to accurately determine their age. They may grow quickly through the first five years if the conditions are right, but the average Joshua tree grows only ½ to 3 inches per year. Out in the desert, insects, birds, reptiles, and small mammals make homes out of the majestic Joshua tree.   National Park Service celebrates…

Whether in your home, garden or traveling, here are tips for surviving mosquito season!

    April 22, 2016 /

Just the other day I was talking to a friend about how mosquitos LOVE me!  No joke, if I am with a big group of people, guess who gets eaten alive?  Yep!  Not sure exactly what attracts mosquitos to one person more than another but I hope to find out after taking the Orkin’s “Buzzer Beater” blog app.  During my travels through Vietnam and Thailand many moons ago, I use to have to slather on tons of mosquito repellant but really to no avail.  It didn’t really matter what I put on, they’d find the areas I’d not reached and have a little feast.  Do you have the same…

The 3 Must-See Cities in Andalucia, Spain

    April 2, 2016 /

One of my favorite regions in Spain is Andalucia. As the southern part of Spain and just across the water from Morocco, it has a Spanish vibe with an Arabic influence.  With its quaint villages, stunning views, amazing sights, and proximity to gorgeous blue sea, Andalucia is a perfect place for a relaxing and culturally-rich vacation. So here are my favorite 3 cities in Andalucia! Granada Granada is known for its beautiful architecture and stunning palaces.  Here you will find small winding streets and cute cafes that are all looked over by the magical hilltop palace – the Alhambra.  The Alhambra was a Moorish palace and is famous for its stunning…
