Reduce Stress and Reconnect with your Kids

    February 25, 2016 /

Winter break was a welcome treat for me and my family. My kids and I needed it. Badly. Like many other parents, I spend most days doing schoolwork, shuttling kids around to activities, running errands and trying to keep up with the chores. When we started homeschooling last year, I thought we would be less pressed for time. That just isn’t the case. Before Winter break I found myself struggling to keep up. I was irritable and anxious. My kids were seeing a lot of “Grouchy Mommy”. Over the break I realized that I needed to back off of our schedule and take breaks for us to reconnect. We were…

The Illustrated Dictionary features a user’s guide, parts of speech and their roles in forming sentences, hints and guidelines for…

5 Ways To Keep Kids Busy This Summer

    June 13, 2015 /

We all look forward to summer vacation. For a little while we are free from loading backpacks, rushing out to beat the school bell, and homework. And as much fun as we know we’re going to have, we all know our children will tell us at least once how bored they are. I know I’ll hear it – I often do. But I have started preparing myself for those occasions and keep things on my bookshelf that I can pass off to the kids when they can’t find something fun on their own. I’m well stocked with Usborne sticker books, wipe-clean flash cards, and learn-to-draw books. Here are a…
