No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.

~AESOP, The Lion and the Mouse

The idea for Dandelion Moms Project Kindness came about after being inspired by two projects that I think are absolutely wonderful and soul-touching.  Amy Krouse Rosenthal’s The Beckoning of Lovely and another one called The Birthday Project.  Both inspire others to spread kindness and loveliness into the world.  I thought it would be pretty fantastic if dandelion moms created a place to offer suggestions each month – some smaller than others – some grandiose – and at the end of the month everyone can post pictures of their acts of kindness and write about the experience if they choose to.  Much like a dandelion seed that blows in the wind landing at different places – acts of kindness can also be far-reaching.  We don’t always know how much a simple act could affect someone’s life.

Come join us in our new project kindness each month!  We plan to create a video about the project so please join in on spreading some loveliness and kindness!

WHAT: To help spread seeds of kindness to strangers, friends, and family members.

WHO:  Whoever wants to join in the dandelion moms project kindness are welcome!  We encourage those who have blogs to join in and grab our I Joined the dandelion moms project kindness button that is posted on the home page on the far right under Grab Our Button.

WHEN:  We will start with a list of  activities at the beginning of each month.  You can choose how many you would like to participate in and post at any time. You can leave a comment about the experience at any time during that month on this page. Please share any photo’s on the dandelion moms Facebook Page and on Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #dmprojectkindness. Help spread the news! We plan to make a video of the dandelion moms project kindness – details coming soon!

We would love to hear your ideas and suggestions about acts of kindness so feel free to leave a comment below!

LET’S START:  You can choose how many acts you would like to do for the month.  Only you know what you have time for so please do as much or as few as you are able!

Buy the person behind you at the coffee shop a cup of coffee or tea.

Purchase a bouquet of flowers and give it to the person you think needs it most.  This could be a total stranger walking along the street, a good friend or family member!

Bake some cookies with your kids and stop by a police station and drop them off – who knows, they might let the kids check out a police car!

Women’s shelters are usually in need of clothes for the women and children who stay there.  Contact your local women’s shelter and see what their needs might be.

That’s it for this month dandelion moms!  Now let’s go out there and spread some seeds of kindness together!

You can grab this button to let others know that you joined in the dandelion moms project kindness!

My parents were big time philanthropists and I learned so much from them. I learned how good it felt to give to needier people. We could all use a little help in some way or another but being able to give, gives me a sense of importance. Plus, if you don’t work to change the world, who else will? You can’t just wait for the next person to do it. I try to donate and volunteer as much as I can. I don’t usually talk about it but when I do, it’s in an attempt to inspire people. I’m excited about Project Kindness!
