Disney On the Brain:

This past month has been a whirlwind of all things Disney!  My family and I spent four days and three nights at the Disneyland Resort for the Disney Social Media Moms conference where I developed a newfound love for anything Disney.  Disneyland really is a top notch family destination and the customer service is just wonderful!  We stayed at the Disneyland Resort and I was so impressed with the quality of the food and our room.  One of our favorite things in the room (besides the Mickey Mouse lights) was the backboard  – when you flip a switch, the board lights up like there is a fireworks show going on in your room while a sweet lullaby plays for a few minutes.  It is these little details that really made the entire family vacation extra special.

 

 

 Affordable Family Vacations:

We had a chance to speak to the owners Chuck and Julie about the company and what was the inspiration behind creating Get Away Today and how they got involved with the Children’s Miracle Network and School Foundations.

 

Tell us what was the inspiration behind starting your travel company, Get Away Today?  The idea behind Get Away Today started with us taking our own family vacation to Disneyland years ago. We had a wonderful time and came home with the best memories, but we were surprised with how much it cost. We knew there had to be a better way and came up with a plan to make a Disneyland vacation affordable for more families. We started partnering with area hotels and attractions to offer discount accommodations and tickets. In fact, we were the first wholesale partner of the Disneyland Resort.

 

Why do you feel Disney vacations are so popular with families? At Disneyland, families are able to make magical memories you just can’t get anywhere else. Disneyland is all about enjoying time with your loved ones and doing something fun for everyone. There is truly something for everyone to enjoy and children of all ages can meet their favorite characters from classics favorites like Mickey Mouse to new beloved stars like Elsa and Anna from Frozen.

 

How did your involvement with Children’s Miracle Network and School Foundations in Utah come about? Giving back to the community has always been very important to us. We know that education and good health are crucial in raising children. So we started supporting the school foundations in our area and then broadened our partnerships and started supporting the Children’s Miracle Network as well. We love giving back to kids and that is why a portion of every vacation package booked is donated to these causes.
