Take Some Mom Time and Recharge This Summer

Parenting may be a 24/7 gig, but taking time out for yourself helps keep you strong for your family. Some of the ways I like to take some time for myself include taking a nature walk, getting massages, playing at the beach, lunch with some friends and watching some choice shows at the end of the night really helps me decompress from my busy days.  I look forward to catching up with some of my favorite characters, like Mr. Selfridge, Sherlock, Don Draper and many more. Every month as part of the Stream Team, Netflix sends me ideas on popular shows the family might enjoy – and is usually centered around a theme.  Well, this months “theme” is you!  Yes, busy moms who might need some down time to watch your favorites shows or movies. Though some of your favorite shows may be on hiatus, Netflix has a selection of titles to get you through the summer months. And yes, that includes all-new episodes of one of our favorite Netflix originals — Orange Is the New Black season 2 launches June 6.  I haven’t seen this show yet and it is on my to-see list this summer! Let’s Get Started on some Mom-time!

4. Sherlock

Snack Like a Gladiator: Red Wine and Pizza Popcorn

It doesn’t take many episodes of Scandal to realize main gladiator, Olivia Pope, consumes copious amounts of red wine and big bowls of popcorn after a long day. Like Olivia, we know you’re the “fixer” in your family too — click here to learn how to make your own Scandal-worthy snack for the ultimate indulgence.  And take a moment to read a beautiful post by Kelly McMullen where she writes about the importance of taking time out for you!
