 DIY Beautiful Handmade Stick Ornaments:

This is the season of giving and special one of a kind things always catches my eye. I love handmade gifts. I make most of my presents or attach something handmade to the box. In my opinion, anything can be turned into art. I walk my son to school daily and love to pick up sticks, leaves etc.  After I had a bundle in my hand, a stick ornament idea came to mind.

You will need:

  • Sticks or twigs, various lengths and thickness
  • Hot glue gun or tacky glue
  • Buttons, yarn, fabric pieces or any other decorations you may like
  • Stamps and a permanent ink pad

I start by collecting sticks twigs and even driftwood will work. If you like to stamp on your sticks make sure you use permanent inkpads. I like my hot glue gun, but tacky glue works well too.

Scraps of fabric torn (I like the rough, frazzled edges) into skinny pieces. Yarn and bits and pieces like buttons.

Group a couple of skinny sticks and glue them together.

Start to glue your yarn on both sides to make a loop so you can hang it later.  Then start wrapping yarn tightly all around the stick. You can use different colors of yarn. Just add a drop of glue on the stick and start wrapping.

I used some of the yarn and glue them on first and then add a button on top of it.

You can stamp on anything.  Make sure you roll the stamp while stamping so every part of the stamp touches the wood.  Wrap yarn the same way.

I tore some fabric and cut them smaller and glue them on my stick.

I used some of the left over fabric and glue them on first and then add a button on top of it.

I made a few with different words on them and different color combinations. You can also stamp a name on your stick and made it part of your gift.

This is a wonderful craft. Love every minute of making it. Was really easy to follow the instructions. I am so pleased that I can make as many as I want.
