Habits That Empower Your Inner and Outer Beauty

You can’t be beautiful without looking after yourself. Period. Beauty isn’t skin deep no matter what the advertisements claim. It really starts within your body and is reflected on your appearance. Here are some healthy habits to try out in the new year!

Be a Natural Beauty

Women go to many lengths – some extreme – to claim beauty. When it comes to makeup and skincare, this can include using harmful chemicals on your skin. Making the move to a more natural beauty is important because you’re preventing toxins from harming your health while making the choice to nourish your skin in a natural and positive way.

It’s such an empowering, wonderful feeling to know that the products your skin is absorbing are good for you. Whatever skin issue you’re dealing with, choose products with natural ingredients in them to make your skin look vibrant and healthy. For instance, if you want to brighten up your skin, naturally-based products will give you a glow without irritating it. The bonus of using natural ingredients is that they’re often packed with antioxidants to care for your skin at a deeper level.

Cleanse, Tone, Affirm

Have you ever had the experience of being told you look great but not really feeling it? This can cause you to lack confidence and makes you walk through your day radiating self-negativity. Real beauty begins in your thoughts and positive affirmations should form part of your morning skin routine to start your day on the right foot.

Make sure that you choose affirmations that you honestly believe so that they will resonate deeply within you. You could focus on something you love about your body and feel good about it. If it’s not always easy, fake it ’til you make it by using a product or wearing an item that makes you feel better about yourself. This could include wearing a soothing fragrance or sparkly jewelry that boosts your mood, for instance. Hold onto the feeling so that it will bring a positive, beautiful smile to your face all day. This will have the effect of making others happy, too.

Bliss out in the Balance

You want to look after your body by choosing healthy foods but don’t forget that you shouldn’t be too severe as that can leave your soul feeling undernourished. Your body deserves a treat sometimes if it makes you feel good. Every now and then, spoil yourself with dessert after dinner or bake that scrumptious pie that your beloved grandmother always made for you.

Beauty is found in happiness and a balanced way of being.

Anything too extreme is unhealthy and takes a toll on your appearance. Take exercise, for example. If you are exercising excessively, this can increase your oxygen consumption which boosts the production of free radicals. These free radicals cause oxidative damage to the muscles, tissues and skin, resulting in premature aging.

Keep it Simple

Beauty doesn’t have to be complicated. You might think you need lots of expensive products to maintain healthy and youthful skin, but this is a myth. There are many routes you can take to achieve beauty, such as skin-boosting homemade recipes, while opting for a simple beauty routine which is the best thing for your skin. For instance, if you have oily skin you might think you need to use strong products and wash your face alot to prevent breakouts, but this can actually cause your skin to become irritated. Sticking to a simple routine of cleansing twice daily, being gentle on your skin, and not overdoing the use of products provides better results.

Focus on Health and Beauty will Follow

No matter how well you follow beauty tips, you can never look your best if you don’t concentrate on being healthy. This indirectly boost your beauty factor. Here are some benefits of healthy lifestyle choices:

  •  Exercise, as long as it’s not excessive, not only tones you up but can improve your appearance by flushing sweat from your pores, which also cleans them of oils, dead skin and dirt, giving you a clearer and glowing complexion.
  • Eating foods rich in antioxidants, such as Vitamin C and Vitamin E also contribute to your beauty. Vitamin C helps to boost collagen production, while Vitamin E beats dryness by helping the skin hold onto its natural moisturizers.
  • Quitting smoking not only prevents disease but makes you look more beautiful. It clears your skin because you’re allowing nutrients and oxygen to reach it, as well as gives you sparkly eyes that aren’t irritated by nicotine.

Positive lifestyle choices boost your beauty. Best of all, your beauty is grounded in health which amplifies its power and longevity.
